EDITORIAL: Terrorists hiding in hijabs--Muslims seek special treatment to elude TSA groping
The Washington Times ^ | November 17, 2010 | Editorial

Note to terrorists: Next time, wear a hijab. The Department of Homeland Security reportedly is giving special exemptions to their "enhanced pat-down" policy to Muslim women wearing the hijab or other form-concealing garments.

Last week, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) issued a "travel advisory" noting that women who are patted down "should remind the TSA officer that they are only supposed to pat down the area in question, in this scenario, your head and neck. They SHOULD NOT subject you to a full-body or partial-body pat-down." It's unclear why CAIR believes TSA frisking must be Shariah-compliant. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano refused to deny that such exemptions existed when CNS News asked her about them on Monday, saying instead that "adjustments will be made where they need to be made" and that "there will be more to come" on this issue.

A fatwa issued in February by Islamic scholars at the Fiqh Council of North America forbad observant Muslims from going through full-body scanners. The council stated, "It is a violation of clear Islamic teachings that men or women be seen naked by other men and women. Islam highly emphasizes modesty and considers it part of faith. The Quran has commanded the believers, both men and women, to cover their private parts." The alternative to the highly revealing and intrusive body scanners is the similarly invasive pat-down, which is objectionable to everyone regardless of religion. Reports of TSA officers placing their hands inside peoples' pants and conducting full skin-to-skin frisks have only heightened the general sense of disgust at this unprecedented government intrusion.

Exemptions for Muslim women wearing traditional garb may be the brainchild of Mohamed Elibiary, who recently was made a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council.

"The Transportation Security Administration says airline passengers won't get out of body imaging screening or pat-downs based on their religious beliefs.

If that's true, which I doubt, we shouldn't be seeing Muslim women in American airports.

It’s not true, I thought we cleared this up yesterday on a different post. No one is exempt.

So when I go through screening on Dec.4th, can I just say that it is inconsistent with my faith to have screening or pat downs below the neck? Or do I have to identify as a Muzzie?

With any luck, we won't be seeing men, either.

We best remember that during the days of the Crusades, women dressed in black and men dressed in white. When muslims were attacked by the Crusaders, they wouldn’t kill the women. Muslim men figured this out so some of them dressed in black to evade the Crusaders. They’ll do it again.

Do you believe we’ll be seeing Muslim women in Hajibs in American airports now?

Dang it! I was all set to start up a new "rent-a-burka" business and franchise it in all airports.

Oh well....

Airline pilots are being groped which is really stupid! They could use their plane if they chose to kill people.

The first to be groped should be Muslims...every shape, form and sex.

What this country needs is some good profiling!

I believe that's a real possibility.

I have no idea, but I suppose if they plan to fly somewhere they’ll be there.

Muslims even arguing for an exemption makes this whole thing surreal: Muslims hijack airplanes, kill thousands, and security measures are enacted. Then, the MUSLIMS say they should be exempt from those measures. With a straight face. Monty Python couldn’t make this stuff up.

If this is allowed we have lost the war. I don’t mean the war against terrorism alone. We’ve lost the war against tyranny.

On the terrorism subject, my wife saw 5 “middle eastern types” in the HEB Food Store on Louetta at Hwy 259 in Houston at 5:30 P.M. today taking pictures of the produce, seafood and meat. She reported it to a “wet behind the ears” assistant manager. He went over and spoke to them and came back and told my wife that they told him they were tourists.

I was outside waiting in the car. She called me and told me what was happening so I told a security guard. He said he would go into the store and tell a cop. My wife saw the cop a few minutes later getting himself a cup of coffee.

Am I paranoid? Or is there a chance these people were checking to see how easy it would be to poison the food supply.

Folks, they’ll let people go into stores and take pictures but grope kids in airports. It seems the only attack they’re worried about is on an airplane. If this is the case we’ve lost the war on terrorism as well.

I believe you're probably right.

The point I'm trying to make with this thread is if the TSA is in fact telling the truth that no one will be treated differently it'll be a huge conflict for Muslims according to CAIR.

If Muslim women do in fact submit to a scan or a pat down that will mean those women are not as averse to it as CAIR and Muslim men make them out to be.

Aren’t there legal bans on wearing “masks” in public from the Klan days? Why aren’t those laws enforced now.

So... Don’t target the very group (Muslims) who are the threat? Liberals run amok again.

When Janet was asked about the exemption for muslim women wearing Hijabs, she dodged the question. That tells me something is amiss. So, this 'aint' resolved.

See video at link see her dodge

Here is another video worth the watch. to the tune of See Me Feel Me Touch Me

Rick, this is an ever evolving story, and this part was cleared up yesterday. I just find it silly to speculate on this when it’s been answered. There’s enough with this story to be upset about without adding more. Now how they continue to deal with the situation as whole, we’ll see.

Exactly! I posted that CNSNews article here. Nappy doesn't have a clue about what's really going on, she probably hadn't gotten the word from whomever tells her what to say.

I don't believe the TSA when they say no one will be treated differently.
