Sarah Palin says she is seriously considering a run for the White House, and she believes she could beat President Obama in 2012, the former Alaska governor told ABC News' Barbara Walters. "I'm looking at the lay of the land now, and ... trying to figure that out, if it's a good thing for the country, for the discourse, for my family, if it's a good thing," Palin said in an interview scheduled to air in full Dec. 9 on ABC as part of Walters' "10 Most Fascinating People" of 2010.

Independents just abandoned Obama in droves for the 2010 midterms. Almost ALL demographic groups, voters across the board just rejected Obama and the Dems liberal social policy agenda. If the economy stays flat for the next two years and if Obama keeps pushing his welfare state policies, Palin will have a unique opportunity for an historic electoral win.

I was there for Reagan in 1978 as well and don’t think he was in anywhere near the hole that she is now (because of all of the new forces against her and her relative lack of experience versus his at that point). But I like the way you think.

I have a feeling that a lot of this is an attempt at “gotcha” journalism, so that if she expresses the thought that of course she THINKS about running, the MSM and the left-wing forces trying to destroy this country can go into overdrive for the next two years trying to destroy her too.
