Don’t know if I agree with this thought. Are other nations using these same security procedures on their passengers? Didn’t the underwear bomber come from a different nation to the US? If so he would already be on the plane and the photo scanner wouldn’t matter. Everyday in our nation people our profiled. If there is a burglary, a murder, a rape, anything that causes harm to society. However, when we are talking about a large group of radicals who fit a profile and want to cause harm to a very large number we ignore profiling. The top priority should be protecting the homeland and its people not protecting the terrorists. If the current administration would stand up and say “I don’t give a damn about PC, I care about safety” there would be no need for them to be criticized.
1st question: NO. Israel says these backscatter machines are worthless. They don't work. El Al has the best security anywhere with a 100% safety rate and they never subject their customers to this nonsense. Why? Because they PROFILE. When you match the profile you get hauled aside and interrogated. Case closed. And it works. And all customers retain their dignity and aren't humiliated.
2nd question: Yes. I don't know if he went through a porno scanner or not, but experts do say that even if he did he would have sailed right through. Why? Because he shoved the explosive up his rectum. These scanners can't see through the skin. If I were so inclined, I could get a bomb onto a plane with no problem. Here's how: shove it up my you know where. Walk through the porno scanner in all my glory which will expose nothing about the bomb I'm carrying. Then after clearing security I can 1) remove the bomb in an airport restroom or 2) wait until I board then remove it in the plane's restroom. Then I set the detonator, timer, place it in my purse or carry on bag, wait until KABOOM. Of course I'm dead with everybody else but that is the end goal of the muslem is it not? So.....these porno scanners not only aren't effective, they are a waste of money, not to mention morally offensive.
What we should be doing is what Israel is doing. Profiling and interrogating. Until we profile and interrogate those who match the profile, this isn't about safety. Its about humiliating and controlling the American people, so oh yeah, its lawsuit time.
My proposal if Congress does not act on this effective yesterday......is to bombard the TSA and the Airports with one lawsuit after the next. Sarah Palin them if you will. Each and every lawsuit must be defended against and that takes money. We could eventually defund the TSA ourselves with enough lawsuits. And the airports? They BY LAW don't have to hire the TSA -- a congressman is working on this as well. They can fire the TSA and hire private contractors. So......we target the airports as well with endless lawsuits until they conform by hiring private contractors. Drive them into bankruptcy if necessary. We can win this if we work together.
