DAVIE — A soldier from Davie was killed in Afghanistan last weekend when a suicide bomber detonated a vest bomb near him and two other soldiers, who also were killed, military officials said Tuesday.
Staff Sgt. Juan Rivadeneira, 27, had been stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky., where he was an infantryman assigned to 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division.

The number of our soldiers killed in Afghanistan killed since 1/20/09 is about equal if not more than the total number of soldiers killed during 7 years under the Bush Administration.
And after that corrupt fool Karzai’s comments about raids, not another American should pay the ultimate price for that sandy hellhole.
Enough already!
No other American family should suffer the loss of their pride and joy for a useless, corrupt regime and hopeless war.
Nuke Wahiriztan as necessary and get the hell out. NATO can do something useful for a change and do the dirty work.
We have done more than enough. If I were President, we would not ever go to war again for the benefit of Muslims, which is all we have done since 1990.
If we leave Afghanistan we will not be leaving with our tail between our legs. Karzai wants to call the shots with nothing to lose. We helped get the Taliban out of government, now our job is done.
Let Karzai have the reins.....I bet his head will be gone in about 24 hrs.....oh well, hate it for him.
