I still can't get over the fact that this is the first living MOH winner since Vietnam. I wholeheartedly believe that the powers that be did not want GW Bush to have a living hero.
There are a couple of examples of our brave servicemen that should be wearing the MOH now that were denied. The most glaring example is that of 1stSgt Brad Kasal of the battle of Fallujah. I'm sure you all remember him from one of the most moving photos of the war.
He was awarded the Navy Cross but most definitely,IMHO, deserved the Medal of Honor.
Half his blood gone from taking rounds and shrapnel while shielding an injured Marine, probably in shock, still with M9 and KA-bar in hand. He deserved the MOH.
