We need to stop this pig of a bill NOW!

Time to hit the phones again and let our senators think about such freedom-hating legislation.

Dick Durbin sponsored it---need I say more?

Good, let's put the f'ing FDA on the budgetary chopping block along with the Dept of Education and every other government agency that attempts to assert an inordinate degree of control over our lives and our pocketbooks.

This really needs to be a crusade taken up by the Tea Party (and by us all individually).

Farmers did nothing when the government started farming regulations.

We deserve everything the government gives us these days because those before chose not to fight back.

Isn’t this why that Delaware seat was so important? Because as a replacement for Biden, the newbie would have been sworn in immediately. While not a guarantee, this person could have been a real barrier to something like this.

Right or wrong?

Why isn’t Limbaugh and/or Hannity hammering away at this? We’re facing the abyss and they talk about how the dems are “losing it”. So what?

These two are clearly carrying the water for Tokyo Rove, again,it seems to me. Palin, Angle, and O’Donnell have more stones than these two ever did.

Let ‘em pass it and start policing back yard gardens, issuing tickets or fines. See where that gets ‘em.

Check it: http://www.popvox.com/bills/us/111/s510

POPVOX bridges the gap between the input the public wants to provide and the information Members of Congress want and need to receive.

Constituent communications are flooding and overwhelming Congressional offices. POPVOX verifies, aggregates, and simplifies communication with Congress on an open and trusted (and nonpartisan) common ground. Advocacy organizations, trade associations, unions and other groups sends their members to POPVOX to take action on bills pending before Congress. Congressional staff and lawmakers log into POPVOX to measure the pulse of their district. POPVOX provides a curating interface for anyone — including Congressional staff, the public and the media — to access and understand the voice of the people.

Yikes! I hadn’t heard about this one in a while ... the House was working on something similar.

I contacted my senators, and have submitted the link to Drudge.

My RINO senator (Alexander) is at the top of the list of cosponsors. He has been duly instructed about the proper way to vote.

Durbin I get he has been trying to kill vitamins for years so why wouldn’t he go after our natural food, too (he is probably a fan of solient green), but Orin Hatch?

Look at this list: VSB 510 - The Food Safety Modernization Act of 2010 Sen. Richard Durbin [D-IL] Cosponsors: Lamar Alexander [R-TN], Jeff Bingaman [D-NM], Richard Burr [R-NC], Roland Burris [D-IL], Saxby Chambliss [R-GA], Christopher Dodd [D-CT], Michael Enzi [R-WY], Kirsten Gillibrand [D-NY], Judd Gregg [R-NH], Thomas Harkin [D-IA], Orrin Hatch [R-UT], John Isakson [R-GA], Can anyone doubt that the present 2-party system is nothing more than a scripted passion play where the corrupt actors play to the audience for their own monetary/political/??? reward?

Thank you for posting this information. This has been an ongoing point of discussion among several of us farmers in this area. I hope that this does not pass...but if it does here are a few ideas that came to me that might help tie this up in court for awhile. I am not a lawyer but I would think that there are some that are Freepers that could evaluate the thoughts.

1. If the bill outlaws the ownership of seeds but the seeds where legally owned prior to the law passing then is this not a “confiscation of personal property”. Would not the government have to buy all of the seeds from us under emanate domain? Could that be argued in court?

2. Could a state pass a law telling the Federal Government that it did not have jurisdiction in this area when the food is grown and consumed within the state...kind of like what some states are doing with the gun issue?

3. Could this also be argued from a freedom of religion stance as well? I am instructed by God to plant seeds and grow my food...Genesis 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground...and Genesis 3:23 Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. Or Genesis 4:2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. I am sure there is more Scripture that could be used to show that we have a God given right to raise our food.

Just some of my thoughts...any other ideas?
