MARIETTA, Ga. - An illegal immigrant college student whose arrest for a minor traffic violation touched off a wider immigration debate was found guilty Thursday in a suburban Atlanta court of driving without a license...

...

Colotl spent 37 days in immigration detention but U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials subsequently agreed to delay action on Colotl's case for a year while she completes her studies.

Colotl told reporters before testimony began that she plans to graduate in the spring and wants to stay in the United States. "I've grown up in this country, and I've adopted all the American values," she said, calling herself "an American without papers."

Colotl's case called attention to the issue of illegal immigrants attending state universities and colleges in Georgia and the nation. The state Board of Regents has since appointed a special committee to examine the issue and voted last month to adopt stricter rules governing illegal immigrant students.

She claims: "I've grown up in this country, and I've adopted all the American values," she said, calling herself "an American without papers."

HA! What a liar this Mexican munchkin is. She's obviously just trying to game the system.

Go back to your real country Jessica and quit wasting America's time and money with your nonsense.

Many of these cases are heartbreaking (NOT this one...) but if we do not enforce the Law, the Law is meaningless. ALL illegals must be incarcerated and deported.

You can probably surmise from my posting upthread that I agree 100%. Regardless of the pity party thrown by the lamestream media for these cases, none of them garner an iota of sympathy from me.

And birthright citizenship which is quite likely unconstitutional must be DENIED.

Rebellion is brewing!! Lock them up and then deport them back to Mexico where they belong.

Sometimes in life one must do what is wise not what is humane in the short term. You let one in and everyone wants to come in.

calling herself “an American without papers

Is she trying to gain sympathy by playing the Nazi buzz word ‘papers’?

She’s right, she’s American but she’s not a US citizen.

We either have laws or we don’t...

Have I lost my mind? Illegal indicates that you are a criminal. Who cares what this woman wants? She and every other illegal alien should be deported. That doesn’t seem so hard to figure out.
