RE-ELECT NUTTER? PHILLY GETS WHAT IT DESERVES!
Philadelphia Magazine ^ | 16 Nov 10 | Chris Freind

Stupidity isn’t a crime. But neither is it a particularly endearing trait.

Just look at some voter stupidity displayed this past election:

• In Nevada, the people returned Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to Washington for six more years. Despite being the second most powerful elected official in the country, with sizable Democratic majorities in his chamber and the House, as well as an ally in the White House, Reid has presided over — and directly contributed to — the worst recession in 80 years.

What happens in Nevada stays in Nevada — and given the voters’ choice, they should expect their unemployment rate, the highest in America, to be staying, too.

• California is a on a direct collision with an iceberg — one over a half-TRILLION dollars thick. That’s right. The Golden State’s state pension obligations alone are more than $535 billion. Which, by the way, has contributed mightily to the state being bankrupt. Literally bankrupt.

The NRA would NOT endorse Sharon Angel. So Nevada, supposedly BIG on the 2nd Ammendment, returns Harry “F”ing Reid and what does Reid do? Makes the biggest anti-gun traitor to the Bill of Rights Chucky Schuemer 2nd in command.

We had our chance, this is what we did with it in Nevada. Yes, we deserve the hell that’s coming.

Another blind pundit thinks its trunk is the tail..

The next question is how many other elections Nationally have been decided by VOtEr frAUd?..

I moved out of Philly 20 year ago and it was bad THEN!

It is going to be a wasteland.

Public union goon with great salaries/benefits/pensions and the rest of th people (the poor and unwashed masses). Taxes are going to be insane.

The funny thing - Republicans just took control of the PA house, senate and governorship. There will be NO BAILOUT of Philly by the commonwealth.

Yes, the NRA was soooo shrewd in keeping Schummer from becoming majority leader!

If you look at many bid cities, they continue to elect democrats who continue the same polcies which lead to decay of inner cities. Take a look at Detroit, Baltimore, St Louis etc.

I've lived in the Philadelphia area since 1982, part of it in Old City Philadelphia. What I've seen during this time is that large numbers of middle class people and employers have left the city. Many have relocated to the adjacent suburbs. At one time the suburbs were "bedroom" communities from which people commuted into the city to their jobs. The suburbs have become more and more independent of the city, as employment and services have all grown to support the people who live in them. I live 15 miles outside of center city, and I go into the city only a few times per year, and then it's mostly just to drive to the airport. I have no need to go there, and little desire.

It's really very sad. Philadelphia has an inspiring history, and many interesting sites. Unfortunately, it is hurt by high taxes, crime, filth, lack of employment and a bad reputation. The last few times I've gone into the city, I've also found myself uncomfortable with the ever-increasing numbers of women walking around in muslim garb. It gives me the chills.

The dead can’t complain, but they victimize the living.

People in NV voted for JFK-LBJ too; they have never understood the threat to the nation, probably so corrupted by the gambling industry there. They can never be trusted. Wouldn’t Ensign be among the most vulnerable senators for 2012 too?

Yes, Benjamin Franklin, Benjamin Rush et al would be “shocked” at the betrayal of American values there.
