(CNN) - Sen. John Cornyn is expected Tuesday to formally make a bid for another two years as chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

GOP sources confirm to CNN that the Texas Republican will put his name up for nomination for re-election as NRSC chairman, as the Senate Republican Conference meets behind closed doors. According to the sources, the two-term senator is not expected to face any opposition in his bid to remain as NRSC chairman, and has already secured the support of a number of new Republican Senators, including Marco Rubio of Florida, Rand Paul of Kentucky, Rob Portman of Ohio, and Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire.

If Sen. John Cornyn is chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, then all my donations are going to Sen. Jim DeMints Conservative Fund, and I live in Texas.

Live in Texas too. And I am making it quite clear that I will vote for ABC (anyone but Cornyn) in next election. He needs to go.

Demint should run. Let’s see who in the Senate is with us and who is not.

Good idea.

Imagine what a mess this past election would have been if DeMint hadn’t stepped up to the plate...

Being head of the NRSC may be what “primaries” Cornyn.

I will do the same in the Primary, but I will have to see if the Democrat is a Communist or not before passing on the Republican candidate in the general election.

Nope! Cornyn has proved himself untrustworthy.

Everybody blames Michael Steele for not winning the senate. This is the guy you should ask why he didn't support Christine O'Donnell or Joe Miller.

What a deluded idiot. It’s probably a way to get reelection by betting on the ‘right’ candidates in the next election.

Agree. The Senate was the only branch that didn’t see a GOP tsunami. I don’t blame Steele for that either- all the problems lead directly to Cornyn.

John Cornyn's major problem is that he thinks it's all about Republicans winning. So he likes Charlie Crist, or Mike Castle, or Arlen Specter - anyone who will caucus with Republicans.

And he has a tin ear regarding who the voters would actually want.

I don’t blame Steele for that either- all the problems lead directly to Cornyn.

Cornyn actually recruited some good candidates, including four conservative pro-life women.

The NRSC obviously has its problems, and I don't recommend giving to any of the national committees, but don't ignore positive efforts and focus exclusively on the failures.

NO; AFTER the way he screwed Joe Miller, I will never support an NRSC headed by Cornyn! I AM STILL OUTRAGED!

-Every other GOP leader was very successful this Nov.; Cornyn underperformed.

And just as bad, he is picking sides when he is supposed to be a leader. It’s one thing for little Lindsey Grahan to play childish games from the peanut gallery; it’s completely unacceptable when you’re running the show.
