As a founding member of the TP, release a letter clarifying the other realeased letter: The Tea Party accovates for the first amendment. The government is not to establish nor fund a social belief structure for the nation.

In respect for the first amendment, the Federal government should not be involved in pushing and funding abortion nor in funding and advocating against abortion. The constitution leaves such moral issues to the people, the communities and States.

The Federal government venturing into establishing religious and social belief structures is unconstitutional and divisive of the American people. The constitution leaves moral and social issues that touch upon spiritual values to the people, communities and States.

This will defund abortion and homosexual activism in the government. Likewise the government can not fund prolife activism nor moral sexual behaviors which it does not do anyway.

Read the Constitution. Do you know why elections are held on a Tuesday? It was so farmers could make it to the polls without having to travel on a Sunday.

The first cause of the Constitution was the Declaration of Independence. Did it not base liberty on those inalienable rights endowed to man by his CREATOR?

Did that document not speciffically first enumerate LIFE as one of those inalienable rights?

So, then, your argument about federal impartiality to social issues trips over that fact and falls flat on its face.

BTW, what is the Constitution if it is not first a “social compact”

If you are going to argue about state sovereignty over cultural issues, then you had best be working to undo the 17th Amendment that gutted state’s rights. Or do you suppose I am naive of the present situation that makes the states agents of the federal power, rather than the constitutionally planned opposite?

Again, you CANNOT seperate morality from government, no matter what level of government you choose. WE are moral creatures. Thus we are inclined to desire moral leaders... or we sure as hell had best be if we desire to restore this truly republic, rather than just bring it up for a last gasp of air.

President John Adams took note that our Constitution is suited only to a MORAL and RELIGIOUS people, being wholly inadequate to govern anything less.

Tell that to the Supreme Court.

Then try telling it to the Marxist, "progressive" (neo-Stalinist), and formerly-liberal groups like NARAL and the homosexual Lambda Legal, who exist to run to the federal courthouse for decrees on their pet issues.
