Sarah Palin has officially jumped the shark.
Last nights premier of Sarah Palins Alaska will be remembered as the moment the once-promising, conservative darling crossed over into the absurd.
Part Alaska tourism promo, part window into the family Palin, TLCs eight-part series features clips of the former governor at home in gym shorts and shots of the family enjoying the great outdoors while she calls out folksy comments like, this is flippin fun!
If thats not enough, Palin takes Kate Gosselin (of Jon & Kate Plus 8 fame) camping in the Alaska wilderness - the two women reportedly didnt get along (Kate, it seems, is a bit of an indoor cat).
Conduct unbecoming a former governor and vice presidential

This is not the kind of show that I want to see my president taking part in.
Some people here think whatever Sarah does is fine and dandy.
I like her too but not in this environment. I think she is blowing her prestige out the window.
Putin would climb the mountain.
Wrong. Reagan left TV before running as Governor of California. He served out 2 terms, and then ran for President. He did not get the nomination the first time.
He worked long and hard for it.
maybe some freeper could post those pics of Bill Clinton jogging in shorts and there was even one of Hillary in shorts, I would rather see Palin in shorts
I didn’t watch the show and maybe if I do I will have another opinion, but I agree she is very close to over exposure.
Too much of a blend with reality TV. I love the Palins and what they stand for as a family - but I don’t need to see them on their own TV show. Makes me think of the Osbournes and a variety of other no-talent shows.
I absolutely agree. And on one of the shows, she goes camping with Kate and her kids. Brilliant. More people (who actually watch only tabloid television and shows like Dancing with the Stars) will see Sarah and come to know her too. Brilliant!
I hope and am beginning to think that Palin knows better than any of us. She left the Governorship and everyone was confused and thought it was the end of her politically. She got stronger. I heard about the “tweets” and thought it was goofy (I don’t tweet), but she apparently changed the nations politics with them. She may just be smarter than the whole lot of them (and us).
I see, so now your objections are not with Sarah Palin but with the producers? Gotcha.
Do you have the same objections over the productions including Obama’s teleprompters? Did you have the same objections over Reagan’s productions? Be consistent here.
It is like the race card that was overdrawn years ago....their lectures and nitpicking means nothing anymore.
Did you watch the show? If not, it'll be on all week in the same time slots. I think the series is a brilliant move by Sarah Palin. The lamestream has tried to destroy her with their ugly smears and lies, so now viewers get to see Sarah Palin like "she" wants to present herself and her family.
She's got the lamestream all upset, (again). GO SARAH!
The Romneybots on this thread are going nuts, too. It’s not just those on the far left who are suffering from PDS.
I enjoyed it. I wonder what the ratings are?
FYI...
Sarah Palins Alaska Premiere Draws 5 Million, Breaks TLC Ratings RecordThe ratings are in, and it looks like Sarah Palins Alaska is a hit. TLC says nearly 5 million total viewers tuned in to the premiere of the series.
In case you havent seen our previous coverage, Sarah Palins Alaska is a documentary series from producer Mark Burnett and starring former Alaska governor and Fox News Channel contributor Sarah Palin.
TLC says 4.96 million total viewers tuned in, including 1.8 million adults 25-54, and 1.6 million adults 18-49, two of the networks key demos. That is the best premiere in network history with regards to total viewers, beating the 2003 debut of What Not to Wear.
Heh. Read a review by a WAPO reviewer and it was just as nasty.
It’s not about the content of the show. It was a fine show, depending on your tastes and such. TLC got five million viewers, most for any TLC ...ever!
Evidently the Lamestream Ruling Class has been forewarned to mockery and ridicule. It’s all they have.
And I’ll add, just as an aside, that Bristol Palin is in the top four on Dancing With the Stars when she has no right to be there. Do not misunderstand....I like Bristol and will be happy if she wins it. but by no means, no means at all, is she deserving of the top four.
By me, the country likes Sarah Palin, and by extension her offspring, and damn the Ruling Class does not like it.
This review of Palin’s show is waaaaay out of line, it’s just mean ness, the show is not deserving of this kind of ridicule. As Bristol is not deserving of the top four dancers but I’ll smile for a year if she wins. When DWS began they lambasted Bristol as well but, heh, heh and heh, the laughs on them.
But hey, just ignore these lame brains and their PDS...they hate it that us boobs out here in lala land love Sarah Palin.
Watch them melt.
How do you reach the “independent” vote that doesn’t watch cable news or buy political books or go to FR or blogs?
She may win.
Didn’t Reagan advertise 20 Mule Team Borax or something like that?
Hey jenny... you marxist pukes tried this crap on Reagan and failed... you will also fail on Palin... and we will reverse the direction and failures that you and your fellow communists have infected this nation with.
LLS
This show is one of th dumbest things Ive ever watched.
<><><><><<>
Not even close to the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen on tv. Nearly every sitcom is dumber. Just saying.
But, it is a reality tv show.
The focus is always on the Palins, not Alaska. Don’t care about her cupcakes or the notion that Willow is looking to be Bristol the 2nd, or that Piper knows how to get Sarah’s goat (by calling her mom by her first name).
And yes, I watched 49 of the 60 minutes (hard not to watch the steelers getting their rear ends handed to them).
If she didn’t jump the shark, but instead reaches middle America in a positive way, will that teach you something? I like the open book aspect of this, especially in light of Obama’s greek column speeches, hidden past, wagyu beef, and millions of dollars a day vacations and trips. I want an American as President, not an emporer.
