IT ALREADY HAS TOO MUCH POWER.
I understand, and certainly, as a practical point, it is wise to contact our senators and demand that they shut this down.
However, I was somewhat facetiously making a philosophical point that government has only the power that we relinquish to it. It certainly has no authority to demand premise registration or individual animal identification. Legislators and bureaucrats consistently overstep constitutional constrains by interfering with private property and commerce.
There are already egregiously invasive regulations of private property in place, and we ought not be expected to obey an unconstitutional statute just because it is passed by some legislative body or published by some unelected government flunky.
