Mom upset about 12-yr old daughter's full body security scan experience

The TSA calls them another weapon in the fight against terrorism.

The machines are meant to detect a wide range of threats. But even children could be picked by an agent to move through one, which doesn't sit well with Michelle Nemphos of Cockeysville.

Her 12-year-old daughter, whom she did not want to appear on camera, was at Tampa International Airport on vacation with a family friend when a TSA officer chose her.

"It's an image of a nude child that they're seeing. This is child pornography whether people want to believe this or not. How is this any different," said Nemphos.

A TSA spokeswoman say the agency's protocol protects privacy. Sari Koshetz says “The officer viewing the image is in a locked room with no windows. The door to the locked room is not opened until the passenger has cleared the checkpoint and the images have been deleted. Should the two officers need to communicate, that is done with whisper headsets."

For Nemphos, that's not enough, not only for her child, but anyone under age 18.

"People think that this is a blurry image. It is not a blurry image. It is an image of a naked person," she said.

Nemphos is still waiting on a response from the TSA.

Exactly right. The 100 million or so muslims who want to destroy the west are laughing themselves silly at what we’ve done.

I’m infuriated every time I go through an airport screening and see the BILLIONS of wasted manhours and tens of BILLIONs of wasted dollars. This is an enormous drag on our economy and I wouldn’t be surprised to see this knocking down our economic recovery.

The ex-director of security at the Ben Gurion airport in Israel was on Fox this morning and says we are doing it all wrong. We need to focus on the intentions of people and their behavior rather than on the things they are carrying. But neither he nor the Fox interviewer would come out and say the word “muslim” — even they were too pussified to name the enemy causing all this waste and mayhem in the US. The Fox woman said something like “Wouldn’t your approach offend ‘some people’ “ or somesuch.

We are WAY past worrying about offending muslims and I’ll be 80% of the country believes the same. Yet we continue to bend over backwards for fear of offending their precious sensibilities. That the U.S. has degenerated to this is appalling.

That’s ridiculous, how would a TSA agent know the difference between a muslim and someone that said they were, just to avoid the pat down?

I hope one of the first things a President Palin does is to subcontract this to the Israelis. Oh the p*ss’n and moan’n among the moose, but the skies will get a lot friendlier in an instant.

. . .

Who is watching the watchers that ogle naked images of our families and exchange private whispers about what they see?

From another link I posted in this thread: ...after nearly a year of authorities lying in claiming that the technology used in airports did not allow the naked images to be saved or transmitted, it emerged that police agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service, who were using the same systems, were storing naked body scanner images. The TSA’s own documents also confirmed that the machines must "allow exporting of image data in real time" and provide a mechanism for "high-speed transfer of image data over the network."

I do not trust the federal government here!

I guess that means Homeland Security has been given the power by congresstraitors who do not read the leglislation they pass, to fine people at their pervert whim.

Giving credit where credit is due: Democrat congresstraitors no doubt in our minds.

So why not just check the a$$hole Muslim ragheads then?

Here's why that will NEVER be done:

Homeland Security appoints devout Muslims

. . .

Why should we?

I can’t believe what I’m seeing here in America. Free people do NOT live this way. We make totalitarian governments of old look like pikers.

Dogs. Dogs. Where are the dogs?

Muzzies would be offended to be sniffed by a dog - that's why they are no longer at the airports

“We need to focus on the intentions of people and their behavior”

Glad you brought this up. We focus on the WRONG END of the terrorism spectrum. I lived in the Middle East and have flown into and out of both Israel and Jordan. No hysteria there—just law enforcement intensely focused on behavior, mannerisms, body language, and I’m sure a memorized image of the bad guys. As you pass the checkpoint from Jordan to Israel, you get on a bus. Israeli security gets on that bus and looks each and every passenger in the face and “studies” them. It’s quite intimidating. Even as an American, my heart was beating pretty fast and loudly. They don’t mess around—they mean business.

In stark contrast, is it true that because touching or viewing their nakedness taints them in their religion that mooselimbs are not subject to this U.S. naked imaging and pat-down scrutiny when flying? We The People are suicidal to allow such leadership to continue in office, much less off of the guillotines.

You, or me do something like that, and our ass would be doing the jailhouse rock.

In 2004, we [my wife and I] flew form Tampa, Florida. i had to remove my shoes and socks. While I was doing this, a group of individuals walked by dressed in mid eastern clothing. They were motioned through without so much as a side glance. After returning to Tampa, I have not even thought about flying anywhere again. Other people want to put up with that shit, fine. I won’t.
