My mother used to wring chicken’s necks or sometimes she would just take an axe and chop the head off, then she would pluck the feathers and butcher them out. When I got a little older, twelve or so, she started having me shoot the chicken’s eyeballs out with a .22 rifle, it made the job easier. I didn’t know as a boy that Mama was, “acting like a man”! I guess nmh would have passed out at the sight of all that.

When you live on a farm, “gross” is a daily part of life.
I guess nmh thinks only men live and work on farms.

I have to laugh at nmb because I personally don't know any men that think like that. I think he has what we call in my neck of the woods, “little big man syndrome.”

In fact, I think the woman where I live have the opposite problem. My 6'4” 250 pound husband thinks his 110 pound wife should be able to do everything that he does. To tell the truth, I pretty much do. What I can't lift, I can usually get the tractor to pull.
