The president again casually confirmed his belief in the
decline of America's "outsized" influence in world affairs, noting,
"We are now seeing a situation where a whole host of other countries are doing well and coming into their own and naturally they're going to be more assertive." The president thinks this greater assertiveness is
"a healthy thing" but did not elaborate for whom it was healthy - certainly not the United States.
For some inexplicable reason, Mr. Obama welcomes the decline of America's role on the international stage. It is his most notable accomplishment.
Mr. Obama defended the relative lack of progress at this G-20 meeting by lecturing the press on the importance of maintaining perspective.
"We should not anticipate that every time countries come together that we are doing some revolutionary thing,"
he said.
"Instead of hitting home runs, sometimes we're going to hit singles. But they're really important singles." His Nobel Peace Prize notwithstanding, Mr. Obama has yet to prove that he is a power hitter in the league of nations. The world awaits his first home run. Do you think he likes being laughed at openly even more?
Yeah, he still has the lapdog media, but even they are starting to have a hard time covering for him.
Nothing "inexplicable" about it. I wish people would wise up. The reason Obama and the rest of international socialism wants to see America reduced, is that America is the last solid bulwark of freedom against the onslaught of totalitarian international rule. As President Reagan warned us, we are Freedom's last stand. There is nowhere to run to if we succumb to statist oppression.
And that, in a nutshell, is the Obama agenda. He and his masters see the end of liberty in sight, and on the horizon the contours of the permanent socialist anthill.
“Worst Prez since Jimmy Carter.”
Carter was/is an incompetent ditherer.
Obama is a very competent destroyer of America.
Big difference.
I agree, Carter really didn’t start hating America until AFTER he was defeated. His bitterness has grown exponentially over the years since.
Good point. Obama is certainly more dangerous than Carter was.
That’s Obama for you; he grounds into a triple play and thinks he got a single.
US allies shake their heads in befuddled bewilderment.
