Jack Johnson, Prince George's county executive, and his wife, Leslie, arrested (Underwear Ca$h)

Jack B. Johnson, Prince George's County's executive, was arrested on Nov. 12 as federal investigators served search warrants at the County Administration Building. His wife, Leslie Johnson, was also arrested. Each was charged with evidence tempering and destroying evidence.

Just after 10:12 a.m. Friday, Leslie Johnson frantically phoned her husband, Jack B. Johnson, the Prince George's county executive.

Two FBI agents were at the front door of their two-story brick colonial in Mitchellville.

"Don't answer it," the county executive said, unaware that more agents were listening in.

Johnson ordered his wife to find and destroy a $100,000 check from a real estate developer that was hidden in a box of liquor.

"Do you want me to put it down the toilet?" Leslie Johnson asked.

"Yes, flush that," the county executive said.

But what about the cash? she asked - $79,600.

Put it in your underwear, the county executive told his wife.

She replied, "I have it in my bra" - which is where agents discovered the money after she answered the door.

I guess corrupt black Democrats don't use the freezer anymore for their corruption cash. Now it goes in the stanky wife's bra.

$79,600 is a thick wad of bills, even if all hundreds.

Ya think they would have cashed the $100K as soon as they got it. Sheesh. They even left the bribe check in with the "free" case of booze the liquor store was forced to cough up.

They must have been doing this for years.

Here in NJ, I met a black couple at a party once who were Democrats in Trenton (long story....my former neighbor and friend worked for the McGreevey and Corzine). He was a minor bit player, but was driving a brand new Mercedes-Benz SLK, and his wife was driving a band new BMW Z4.

I thought "Politicians pay must be pretty good these days."

Is there an email address somewhere to write this “newspaper” and ask why the party affiliation is never mentioned?

I suppose this loser will get reelected anyway. Most Dems can get away with it thanks to their base.

I know. Total news blackout on his party affiliation.

You have to go to Wikipedia to even find it, and only there on the right hand side sub heading.

I can't believe the corrupt Eric Holder is allowing the FBI to advance this probe. It looks like more pols are going down:

Johnsons' arrests appear to be tip of federal corruption probe

The FBI is either operating outside of Holder's influence, or Holder knows he can't stop this.

Interesting. Check this little bit of information out on Wikipedia (via an earlier Washington Post article about this guy:

Johnson flew business class to Senegal in December 2005 to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony for homes built by a local developer. The cost of his travel was $6,003, charged to the county, and paid for by taxpayers. Johnson was quoted as saying, "I always fly business class or first class. I think the people of Prince George's County expect me to. I don't think they expect me to be riding in a seat with four across and I'm in the middle."

Sadly, he's right regarding the mentality of the people who voted for him.

There is also a nice “hook” in this story for the new Republican Congress (which the WP hopes they don’t see).

Here it is: The crooked Democrat was busy lobbying HUD for funds for local housing developers. That is one of the reasons the developers paid the bribes.

So—the question for the Republicans is—did anyone at HUD get a piece of the action? What do you bet you will find an administration political appointee at HUD on the other end of these deals.

Oh yeah, and the perp wants to save his skin....this month is just getting better and better.

I would be thrilled it this would happen, but I am always skeptical. There is so much "behind the scenes" corruption of power in American that the people would be completely shocked about it - which is saying something because people are completely jaded as it is.

Clinton's corrupt pals (McDougle, McDougle's wife, Hubble) literally "rolled over" and did prison time rather than talk and cross them. They knew they would end up dead if they did.

Obama's thugs could kill someone in 24 hours if he gave "the nod." I am not joking. Who do people think Louis Farrakhan's thugs are? Members of the church choir?

But as I said, either the FBI is operating outside of Eric Holder's influence, or Holder can't contain this (for now). There is a 3rd option I guess - that this guy was a "small fry" and they threw him to the FBI as cannon fodder to get the spotlight off of them.
