Those fresh eggs are great aren’t they? We have a flock of around 30 chickens right now but a few will be going to the freezer soon, along with some of the ducks and some of the lambs. The freezer should be full. And the milk cow is raising two calves so the other freezer will be full next year...

I’ve been noticing prices increases in butter. Guess gun manufacturing must be up.

Fresh eggs are a revelation to anyone who has never had an egg warm from the next, fresh in the pan. We have taken to setting a half dozen out in the outside fridge to age for a week or so, then we hard boil them for lunches. (Fresh eggs don’t hard-boil well, the shell bonds to the egg...)

We have a number of the neighbors we share eggs with and we get loaves of bread, and even a cauldron of fresh made cabbage rolls from the Romanian lady down the street, who treat every egg we bring her like a 60 gram diamond...I am hoping to talk her husband into a micro flock of his own next year...

Ya know what’s a real treat? a broccoli and caramelized shallot quiche made with fresh eggs. We do a “quiche of the week” on Wednesdays, and eat off of it for days. My wife loves to torment her co-workers with leftover quiche at work....

yah, fresh eggs are worth every bit of effort....

Bernake is destroying the US’s most valuable item - the dollar. He knows good and well that real inflation will go much higher than 2%. On purpose they appear to be facilitating a dollar collapse.

We found out the hard way about the “fresh eggs don't hard-boil well”. When we first started to raise chickens we would boil some eggs and you are correct...the shell bonds to the egg. After some frustration an old farmer told us to put some of our eggs in the fridge for a couple of weeks to “let them get old like store eggs”...sure enough it worked.

Our chickens free range so they eat bugs, frogs, and such...it is always interesting when we have people over and serve eggs or give somebody a dozen to take home. They are amazed at how orange the yokes are...I explain that it has to do with their diet but I don't think they believe me. I also have to explain to some of them that all eggs are not white...I get white, brown, and green eggs from my chickens.

With all the eggs coming in each day...and all the mouths to feed (seven children)...my wife has developed several “favorite” recipes for the eggs...they are worth the effort.

They are claiming about 4%, I’m seeing more like 10% to 15% price increases in my area in the past year.

(Palin was right!)

Is Saint Sarah mentioned in this article?

Unfortunately, most Americans will be more familiar with what Palin did on Dancing with the Stars than what she said regarding monetary policy.

Sarah is not a saint.....supporters refer her to Reagan like or some other person but few if rare ever compare her like Obama’s God-like salvation....Palin was accused recently of being stupid for pointing out that Bernake QE2 was causing inflation in food prices and I was just confirming that she was right...no the article didn’t say anything about her but most Freepers know what I was inferring

All you have to do is look up as you drive past the gas station. I remember reading about how the Fed’s actions would cause inflation and then two days later gas went up 20 cents. Of course, most of our oil imported and since Wal Mart sells a lot of Chinese goods, that makes sense as well.
