Pelosi's new position for Clyburn to avert Dem battle: 'Assistant Leader' By Molly K. Hooper - 11/13/10 04:00 PM ET
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) asked her colleagues Saturday to support Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) for "Assistant Leader," a newly created third-ranking position at the leadership table.
In a letter to her fellow Democrats, Pelosi wrote "should I receive the privilege of serving as House Democratic Leader, I will be very honored to nominate our outstanding colleague, Congressman Jim Clyburn of South Carolina, to serve in the number three House Democratic position. I will also ask the Caucus to designate that position as Assistant Leader."
House Democrats averted a nasty fight when Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced the creation of the new No. 3 ranking spot for Clyburn.
The late Friday night news ended an internecine battle between current Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) and Clyburn, both vying to be the No. 2 ranked House Dem in the 112th Congress.
According to a source close to Clyburn, the “solution” is to create a third-ranking Democratic leadership position that “would maintain the diversity of the Caucus as well as the wishes of a majority of the Caucus, that (Clyburn) remain in the number three leadership post.”
With the loss of the Speaker’s gavel, at least one Democrat in the leadership team was to be squeezed out of a high-ranking position.

Help me with this: Pelosi creates Assistant Leader for black guy, Clyburn. I’m trying to visualize GWB as President, a Republican controlled House and John Boehner as Speaker creating Assistant Leader position for....
It would bring down the entire House and Administration!!!!

The GOP better have Pelosi’s office checked for wiretaps before the new Speaker moves in. In fact, I would have all RAT offices checked for wiretaps before any Republicans move into them.

That was my first thought when I saw the article. LOL!
I have developed a large group of contacts on Face Book who are hard core conservative patriots; who happen to be black folks. You should read some of their comments! Talk about take no prisoners. Ha ha!!
Take heart my fellow FReepers, there are huge numbers of solid citizens of color who 'get it' and those numbers are growing.

The GOP should run a public service announcement showing the history of the two parties with regards to race relations.
It could show all the Blacks that have been asked NOT TO RUN. It could show the voting records between the two parties in the 1964 Civil rights Act.
If Clyburn accepts this position, he will be Pelosi’s symbolic “House N-word” Don’t get offended by my words; I’m simply stating what the left are doing to this man.
So will Clyburn settle for the position of 2nd-1st?
I will never forget a little boy I knew years ago,
a real monster whose mother never told him NO and who tried to make everything OK so he would never be hurt or disappointed. One day he lost a final round spelling bee and began to cry, his mother told him, “no you didn’t really lose, you won, you’re 2nd-1st”. Wonder where he is now?
So will Clyburn settle for the position of 2nd-1st?

If he does, I never want to hear another word from the Congressional Black Caucus about the GOP or Tea Party being racists. I also don’t want to hear the “Justice Brothers” having a stupid march to condemn the GOP or Conservatives!
If Clyburn takes this position, he will have made himself a “House N-word” without any help from a White person!
