Hannity was surprised to hear a famous ex Air Force General tell him That Is A Missile, Shot From A Submarine! I quote retired Air Force Lieutenant General Tom McInerney (ex commander of 11th Air Force in Alaska) I spent 35 years flying fighters, and you can see the guidance system kick in, I have watched that film 10 times, I am absolutely certain that that is not an aircraft, but a sub launch ICBM missile!!! See the video and judge his words for yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LivRJOWrcpA&feature=player_embedded#! I will next post a clickable link.
Thanks for that link. My impression from what he meant by it was growing, is that the object was continuing to travel and the object/contrail were growing. That was when he first saw it and he had not fully zoomed. So to the unaided eye or not fully zoomed camera, growing would mean basically continuing along its axis of travel.
Can you provide a link to that report ?
I trust math and always have; it's the "anti-conspiracist" mathemeticians I doubt. It's amazing how many people trusting contrailscience.com are trusting the mathemetician automatically as if he was math. Very disturbing and, as you said, instructional.
You're doing it right -- I'm flying (no pun intended!) on the seat of my pants to try to determine and explain why plain common sense makes me so certain that good folks are being deliberately deceived. You're proving it -- I'm just shouting it.
The math shall set you free! ;^)
Welcome to Planet Ape !
Please leave your brain in the spaceship.
I think it's pretty safe to assume that he meant the length of the contrail was growing.
Yes. We are on Version 2.05 of the 'look boss, the plane' theory. And we all know who the boss is on Fantasy Island.
It’s clearly headed east. Sorry...
That is what I would have thought, but no. Not at all. On November 8th that UPS902 came in at 29-30 k feet all the way from due south of Malibu to due south of Costa Mesa. By the time it crossed land 14 miles SW of Fallbrook it was at 25,500 feet. So they come in high and fast until they are just about over land and then start a steep descent and turn. Must have something to do with flight restrictions. Saw a few planes at lower altitudes below them near the coast (AirportMonitor for Bob Hope). So that is quite the ride. Now I thought maybe they saw the missile and got spooked on November 8th and climbed, so I checked the same flight on November 9th and it was at 31,000 feet over Catalina. So that appears to be normal.
Really would like to know what kind of Camera they used for that ContrailScience GIF Animation. That seems to be some kind of magic camera. Showed a plane 35 miles away at 30,000 feet as it was focused about 40 degrees to the right on the objects contrail at horizon. Wow. What kinda of optics can do that ? /s
Thank you for explaining that.
Version 3.0 of the Plane Theorem !
There actually were a bunch of planes heading up the coast going Northwest. Maybe we can pick one for them. Might be fun. Most were hugging the coast tight, though. Definitely not 35 miles southwest of LA. I think there might have been a couple of out bounds that could be candidates however....
Something else is going on here. Almost as if some idiot politician got involved with a military matter. So there may also be some non-classified political operation that wants to be covered up, is my wild guess. And with the Democrats completely in charge for two years, who knows what the heck that could be.
There are numerous witness reports. A Los Angeles Times story has a women in San Pedro that saw it from her backyard. She would have been close to that land the Helicopter showed. Also there are witness comments on some of the MSM stories and blogs. Even have a second video of what appears to be the same event.
If the missile was launched from San Nicolas Island, it was actually 50 miles out to sea and headed westward at a 45 degree angle. Not easy to spot. We also had a cold weather system that just blew in off the coast which is why you see clouds in the video and images. Flight AWE808 came through the launch area before the launch. No way they could have seen it. UPS902 came through around the time of the launch, but they were above 30,000 feet. Over San Nicolas Island at about 5:25 pm. So the missile would have launched 10 minutes before they got there and the missile would have been far west of that location by the time they got over that island. The Helicopter Pilot I think also said he looked over at another planes contrail why he was watching the event. That might have been UPS902.
Sunlight is indisputable. Headed westward. Every high altitude contrail near sunset has solid coloration that is bright. Because the below horizon setting sun is illuminating the bottom of the high altitude contrail. Now look at the rocket plume again. Not uniformly bright. In fact when it really starts to angle out west, the right side is bright and the left side is dark. That cannot be reproduced by a high flying plane contrail. They will never be able to reproduce that effect with a plane contrail and they have failed so far. Maybe if their camera was on top on Mt. Everest they might stand a chance.
That would be 35, 42 or 62 miles away. Take a map and draw 3 big circles around his helicopter's location as he was filming. Depending on what he meant by "horizon" (which is dependent on his altitude at the time) he says the "big plume looked like it originated beyond the horizon".
You can look at the video to get yourself oriented. The highest peak in the Santa Monica Mountains is 3111 ft. Quite obviously if he's South of the Santa Monica Mountains the horizon is pretty darned close to him. He also has mountains to the East, and at a substantial distance to the South.
It is to the West that he has clear access to a reasonably distant "horizon". In fact, the New York Times quotes Gil Leyvas as saying that he spotted the phenomenon northwest of Catalina Island as he was shooting the sunset from the helicopter about 5:15 p.m. November 8.
So, the guy doing the shooting says "NW of Catalina", not from the NW which would be beyond the Santa Monica Mountains from most spots in LA county (even Palos Verdes). He also says he was "shooting the sunset", and the SUN sets in the West, by SW, this time of year at that latitude.
I don't think there's any question about it ~ he was looking West and filming a phenomenon NW of Catalina. That's what his video reports as well ~ once you get yourself oriented with respect to where the Sun is, where Catalina is, where he is.
It GROWS, then, from West (the area he's filming) to East, where he is, where Los Angeles is.
Simply excluding the areas Gil is saying he was not filming, it's pretty obvious he means both "over the horizon" and "out to sea". If he doesn't mean that, then why does his film show that?
Clutching at straws. Growing meant that the object was continuing on its axis of flight. IE - The contrail was growing.
Heck, the object is not even growing on the contrailscience blog images as it supposedly flies past Long Beach.
Do you have a link to where he said that? I just listened to the interview again for about the fifth time and he didn't say that or anything remotely like it.
And what does any of that have to do with him clearly saying that what he was looking at was "going in a westerly direction?"
I hadn't heard that he was interviewed in the NYTs before. Do you have a link to that article? Since we don't know the location of his helicopter it's kind of useless to speculate on what hills were in the video. We could probably safely exclude hills to the east though given the ocean in the foreground.
Which means he's shooting a phenomenon where the Sun sets (that's West) and it's coming in from beyond the horizon (that's West) and it's NW of Catalina Island (which is still West) and then he says it's "going West" (which is bizarre.
He is describing something coming in from the West then going back out West.
Might be time to quit trusting this guy to fly a news helicopter around Los Angeles eh.
You keep misquoting him.
He says it it "going in a westerly direction." That's a pretty clear statement.
You continue to watch the “exclusive interview” by the local CBS affiliate. He actually provided ADDITIONAL material in his “exclusive interview” with CBS network ~ and that is buried in the story about the government’s denial. You want to watch this one: http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7040407n&tag=related;photovideo
