I still haven’t heard anybody explain that if it’s some gigantic cover-up... why? Why would they need to cover up a launch? They do those all the time. Nobody would care. What possible reason can you think of?
There is either a glow from the motors in that shuttle video or not and there is not at the end of the video.

Well, I would think it just comes with the territory: if it was a missile and the military says there was no missile, they are lying. The “why” of that seems like an important element. Why lie when they don’t need to? For the fun of it?
If it was somebody else’s, say... China, and they wanted to cover that up... the simplest way would just be to say it was ours. Everybody yawns and goes home.
If it was somebody else’s... seems they’ve been pretty quiet about it. Why do to all that trouble for nothing?
It jus’ don’ make no sense. But then there is a possibility that makes perfect sense: It is what it appears to be... an airplane coming in over the horizon at high altitude. Now THAT makes sense.

The DoD keeps a lot of things secret and the ‘why’ is also secret or they would have to explain what they were saying didn’t happen. That’s not rocket science. The rest of those speculations are fun to hypothesize about but that’s all they will ever be until someone releases an official statement. Speculations. They may never do that.

Correcting errors with better data as it is acquired. Admitting error and refining interpretation. It's called, "scientific honesty".
Not much of that is seen from folks who make up their minds based on the MSM and don't allow facts, measurements -- and examination of ALL the data -- to sway them from their first (erroneous) impression.
Did you notice that the folks who have been doing all the real WORK on this phenomenon (looking up flight data, making calculations, considering the geometry of the earth and sunset illumination, plotting the results, making animations, etc. are the ones who are willing to work to refine their work -- especially even if it makes their earlier efforts look inferior?
Honesty.
Scientific, intellectual honesty -- based on measurable facts. (Not some magic, imagined "35 miles" guess that was mentioned once by a MSM program on a slow news day. (In a video that was drastically and deceptively edited, BTW...)

I am developing a bunch of graded-color graphics dealing with shadow and sunlight coloration effects (varying with altitude, time, geometry and distance) that, to me, "illuminate" '-) what is really seen in clips from that video. Hint: the answer, IMHO, lies in the answer to this question: "In images taken well into shadow after sunset at the observer's position, why is the oldest and widest portion of the "plume"/"contrail" the brightest (and whitest) in illumination? (I know the answer; translating and illustrating it from 4-D space onto a 2-D screen is the challenge...) '-)
I am willing to start a separate thread for our workspace, if need be. Should I do so, or should we continue our attempts to discern and explain the truth here on this thread?

The FReepers who fall for it are at most possibly behaving foolishly, but they are not fools -- they are fellow FReepers and patriots. We all have different life experiences and resources at our command; I could easily be swayed by such a mighty effort of technical geek-speek on this if I had spent my life in a different place, and FURTHERMORE, I could easily be swayed by such a mighty effort if it was about something -- let's say, tornadoes, or harsh winters -- with which I have nothing but theoretical knowledge. Somebody could easily mislead me and fool me on those things, and if it was easier and seemed more sensible to me, I'd believe it.
Except for one thing -- if I had fellow FReepers who well knew tornadoes and harsh winters trying to alert me that I was having my leg pulled ... I'd give what they said a LOT of credence.
Again, the only "embarassment to FR and the human race" are the fraudsters who know PERFECTLY WELL what they're doing to "win" the missile-vs-contral argument. They're just like Democrats -- they have to cheat to win.
