One and done: To be a great president, Obama should not seek reelection in 2012

This is a critical moment for the country. From the faltering economy to the burdensome deficit to our foreign policy struggles, America is suffering a widespread sense of crisis and anxiety about the future. Under these circumstances, Obama has the opportunity to seize the high ground and the imagination of the nation once again, and to galvanize the public for the hard decisions that must be made. The only way he can do so, though, is by putting national interests ahead of personal or political ones.

To that end, we believe Obama should announce immediately that he will not be a candidate for reelection in 2012.

If the president goes down the reelection road, we are guaranteed two years of political gridlock, at a time when we can ill afford it. But by explicitly saying he will be a one-term president, Obama can deliver on his central campaign promise of 2008, draining the poison from our culture of polarization and ending the resentment and division that have eroded our national identity and common purpose.

We do not come to this conclusion lightly. But it is clear, we believe, that the president has largely lost the consent of the governed. The midterm elections were effectively a referendum on the Obama presidency. And even if it was not an endorsement of a Republican vision for America, the drubbing the Democrats took was certainly a vote of no confidence in Obama and his party. The president has almost no credibility left with Republicans and little with independents.

What they’re saying is “Don’t worry about re-elecition. Cram more stuff down the peoples’ throats.” What they seem to forget is he ain’t crammin’ nothing without the house helping him push. Then again, maybe they’re telling him to rule by executive order and become a dictator. If he tries this we’ll certainly see if the republicans got the message or not.

This is not going to happen. Riots would break out all over the Country. The only way O can peacefully leave is due to an illness. Anything other will cause chaos.

Let me rephrase it:

Right now, Barack Obama has been revealed to be an incredibly awful President, but he will go down in history as less of an incompetent Marxist buffoon if he announces he will not run for a second term.

Eyebrows up ping! Couple this with the Insider series with Ulsterman.... ( http://newsflavor.com/politics/world-politics/white-house-insider-clintons-scandals-and-the-birth-certificate/ ) is something about to break? Was this a test the waters trial balloon? I am thinking so....

"Just something I heard – reliably. Have you heard anything similar? (pause) Yes. Many people have. This thing is percolating just under the surface right now. Sooner – not later, the pot is gonna start boiling. Yeah, someone is about to test the waters with this thing. I’ve heard that. Then again, I’ve heard that for a while now, so who knows, huh? I’d watch yourself though – told you that before. Be very careful who you are talking to on this. These people don’t play nice.

But nothing more specific? A name? No-no-no. Not going there – not yet. I don’t have the protection. Read the Times. Somebody there has sniffed it out. And a guy over at the Post. If the Post starts to get on it, the Times will probably go ahead and break it open, loyalty to the White House be damned. I told you before, parts of the story have already been given out publicly here and there. One part will lead to another and then another. It’s underway right now. Every week a little bit more shows itself."

I think his party is going to ask him to step DOWN and resign. Its the only way they can salvage anything for 2012 and they know it.

They'd be taking a big risk. Something like 90% of Americans who happen to be black still think Obama is the greatest thing since Emancipation, and booting him out of the Party (however they try to dress it up) is, IMO, the one thing that could guarantee a significantly reduced black turnout at the polls in 2012.

To put this in perspective, one has to realize that while the authors, Douglas Schoen and Patrick Caddell, are Democrats, they are far from your typical loony moonbat Democrats.

As good as this sounds on it’s face, I trust nothing from the Washington Post.

Besides, nothing short of immediate resignation of that criminal bastard, Obama, will help our country.

The democrats themselves should invite Obama to resign under the threat of impeachment.

All they need is a good reason to let him go. Shoot, a psychotic episode due to the anti-depressants he is on can happen to anyone... everyone knows that.

FYI TO SARAH PALIN'S PING LIST:

I pinged you all to this thread because the poster had altered the headline to read;

"Washington Post calls for Obama not to run in 2012, says step aside"

*That* was worthy of a ping, whereas this opinion piece by Pat Caddell and Doug Shoen is not. My apologies.
