Pennsylvania Republican Party Chairman Rob Gleason is reaching out to members of the Republican National Committee and top GOP operatives in advance of a possible bid for national party chairman, a source close to Gleason told POLITICO.

Other RNC insiders whose names have been floated for chairman include former Michigan Chairman Saul Anuzis, Connecticut Chairman Chris Healy, Wisconsin Chairman Reince Priebus, former North Dakota Chairman Gary Emineth, California Chairman Ron Nehring, District of Columbia Committeeman Tony Parker, Texas Committeeman Bill Crocker, former RNC Deputy Chairwoman Maria Cino, RNC Co-Chairwoman Jan Larimer and former RNC Chairman Mike Duncan.

I’m still undecided on Saul Anuzis.

It's critical to contact your national committemen and strongly urge them to support a decent candidate. And at all costs, avoid a disaster like Gleason.

PA ping request...

What are the pros and cons on Anuzis? I have seen him online quite a bit but never have heard him speak or seen him in person.

We do not need LIBERAL Republicans leading anything in the Republican Party. We need CONSERVATIVE WARRIORS. We are in a war to save our Republic. We have no time for these idiots.

COMPROMISE WITH COMMUNISM IS SUBVERSION.

Looks like Healy is a nonstarter in his own state:

I've paid little attention to him but I did find this in a story from January of 2009. BTW for context The writer is a rabid lefty.

The one thing he has done is beg uber-right-winger Tim Walberg to try and take back a congressional seat no sane Republican could lose.

BTW again, Tim Walberg did win the seat back.

Reince Preibus of WI is the best choice - he welcomed the Tea Party groups into the process, but we, in Wisconsin, may still need him. I thought I had heard he wasn’t interested in the national GOP job. Reince likes conservatives.

Gleason is an ELITIST, RINO PUPPET. He is NOT a Conservative. He did not help at all when PA Conservatives were trying to take Jack Murtha’s seat. NO, NO, NO to Mr. Gleason.

I’ll tell the Republican National Committee Members right now, that if they elect Gleason as RNC Chair, I’ll join a movement to form “The Conservative Party of America”.

Enough with the Elitist, Establishment, RINO pieces of s**t.

As a Pennsylvanian, I need to remind everyone that this guy is a RINO's RINO. He may even be a Vichy Republican. He's so far out on the RINO scale that he makes Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee look like a conservative.

This guy did everything he could to recruit RINO retreads to run in the primary against Pat Toomey because, according to him, our senator-elect was too conservative to be electable.

Gleason is the guy who couldn't take Murtha's seat for the GOP.

The one good thing that could be said about him is that he seems to recognize the uselessness of the Philadelphia GOP.

But I don't trust his motives in taking on the Philadelphia GOP - seems he just wants it to expand his own personal turf.

Oh, I trust his motives entirely. He wants to expand his own personal turf.

If this bozo wins the GOP will be like the Titanic actually doing a hard 90-degree left turn to hit the iceberg.
