The wind spreading the trailing edge of the contrail is consistent with the portion of a contrail that's been in the air for at least a half hour.
It doesn't look at all like what I'd expect to see at the lower end of the smoke trail from a missile launch.

The sun below the horizon creating the shadow of the contrail in this screenshot shows the direction the camera is pointing.
The video shows a contrail of a commercial flight coming in from Hawaii. The extreme magnification on much of the video and the editing combine to make you think you saw that whole scenario you claim to have seen.
This contrail was also very far off, and the pilot ZOOMED in, which further distorts our ‘perception’ when viewing it, especially when the object is coming ‘at us’.
Why do people see the top of the mast of a ship coming in from offshore, before they see the actual ship itself?
Is the ship ‘rising’ from the bottom?
Sorry, I don’t agree; you can clearly see the thick heavy smoke coming out of the back (not from four engines)
and there are many other reasons to think “missile launch” already enumerated here by many FReepers with hands on experience so to speak, including experts in submarine missile launches;
And the Jane’s guy, who should know better than nearly anyone else in the world, (as Jane’s really REALLY know their stuff) disagrees with you.
And I know it doesn’t count for much but the “expert” in Moscow disagrees with you.
And I disagree with you.
