A man who claims to have pipe bombs is threatening to jump off the Bay Bridge.

A female got out of the car and said there are five bombs in the vehicle.

All westbound traffic is being stopped at the toll plaza.

I find it unreal they are letting the traffic flow on the lower level even though they expect explosives are in the vehicle on the upper level.

Most likely, but it sure seems the Police in this case are not erring on the side of caution. Seems like I read a story recently of several bricks of C-4 being “found” just lying around somewhere.

Cars at the toll booth are making a u-turn and being turned back. Cars between the toll booth and Treasure Island (I’d guess at least a couple miles) are just stuck on the one-way level until the police give the all-clear. Even if this jerk has a pipe bomb, which he probably doesn’t, he’ll blow up his car but not make a dent in the bridge, either deck.
