Prior to federalizing air port security, it was run by a company called Argenbright that employed illegal aliens & convicted felons. I personally was opposed to the feds taking over airport security, but the alternative wasn’t impressive.
I do agree that creating DHS was one of Bush’s mistakes.
Really the problem has nothing to do w/ airport security and everything to do w/ securing our borders & having sane immigration policies. The airport thing is another govt jerk knee response to a far bigger and different problem. Considering the govt response to 9/11 think how very very bad it’ll be when terrorists try other venues of attack. Let say they blow a mall up. Will we all have to line up for body scans to enter? Will mall cops be federalized? The foolishness is pretty much endless esp when govt employes are involved. Pretty much its sanity out the door along w/ our few remaining freedoms. Do we want peace? If we can all agree on a ‘yes’ answer then the way to start is to seal our borders. Then we can go after all those millions who came here illegally.
