Happy Meals versus the homeless
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 11/10/10 | Debra J. Saunders

As The Chronicle reported, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors voted 8-3 to ban the inclusion of toys in Happy Meals that don't have reduced sodium, sugar and fat. Once again the supes have proved themselves to be both authoritarian and irrelevant.

Let me throw out a favorite word among the left: Choice. Over Mayor Gavin Newsom's objections -- he finally figured out that Ess Eff nanny state laws don't sell if you're running for office statewide -- the board has decided that it has the right to take away the ability of parents to choose to buy a Happy Meal for their kids in The Special City.

And look around. What do you think is the big problem in San Francisco? Toys or street people? Burgers or blight?

Yes the red-diaper-doper baby “peace-and-love” hippies and their issue are really tyrants.

I thought only homosexual couples with kids lived in San Francisco.

I think this move is far from irrelevant. In the big picture, it is a branch of government telling a private business what they can (or cannot) sell. I find it hideously intrusive, and this is how liberals get started. They choose something small, something that seems innocuous and ram it down our throats. Then they build on their success.

Silly as it may seem on the surface, this decision is dangerous.

These asshats are not against toys or hamburgers or even fries. What pisses them off the most is the word Happy. They are against happiness. They want everyone to be as miserable as they are.

Instead of toys, they should give an extra large french fry or some cookies as a San Francisco Substitute Happy Meal.

When I told Mrs. Tell about this latest insanity, she observed that San Fran doesn't really care that much about kids.

I think the average San Franciscan has a vague idea where children come from, but finds the whole matter somewhat distasteful.
