It is our “reserve currency” that allows this to happen to us. It has had its benefits, but the costs are not worth it. I remember reading about someone knowing this would happen to the US with us having the reserve currency, but I couldn’t find it. IT IS OUR FED THAT IS SELLING THIS COUNTRY DOWN THE RIVER!!!!!
