A DVD of “A Face in the Crowd” starring Andy Griffith as a drunk loser called Lonesome Rhodes who gets a talk show and is propped up by the powers that be and becomes wildly successful. Then it all crashes down and and it ends with him having a mental breakdown and contemplating jumping out a high rise and committing suicide.

I always wondered why Kieth Olberman and Chris Matthews always referred to Beck as Lonesome Rhodes...I didn’t know the background or of this movie.

Its telling that they use it as well as Soros...

I liked the way Beck ended the show yesterday, saying,

‘Sorry George, I’m NOT jumping...’

Guess they belong to the same club of creeps. Never heard of the movie.

Did Soros direct it? pay for it? (kidding)

"A DVD of “A Face in the Crowd..."

See his gift and raise him with a DVD collection of...

When/if the people of this country (or the UK) reclaim their government and institutions, Soros will - as fitting - be treated to a similarly treatment & fate.

It's actually an amazingly good movie--great storytelling and acting, but I think it may be more about Obama than anyone else.

And I think LR is a lot closer to the real, snide, low-down huckster that Andy Griffith really is. I think we should devote some energy in dragging down his legacy since Andy wants to see America dragged down. Good project, that.

When he's delivering his sales pitch for Obamacare, look straight in his eyes and tell me that this man has a soul and that it's still alive. What a disgusting villain.

The Andy Griffith Show was a sterling example of middle-class American virtue. All the participants have taken delight in dragging down those same values. A pox on Ron Howard, Andy Griffith, et al.

That movie changed my whole view of Andy Griffith. Maybe he was just a great actor, but it seems just too close to the truth, imo.

I always thought Bill Clinton was a perfect Lonesome Rhodes, except that Clinton won the election.
