Obama's Slave Ship
American Thinker ^ | November 10, 2010 | Robin of Berkeley

When I was young and living in Manhattan, I saw an Off-Off-Broadway play called Slave Ship. It was an experience I'll never forget.

Unbeknownst to me, the performance was conducted in total darkness. The audience was subjected for one very long hour to the harrowing sounds of slavery. There were blood-curdling screams, whippings, and more.

Given that we were trapped in pitch blackness, the audience was held captive like the slaves, compelled to experience the same terror, helplessness, and despair. This was undoubtedly the intention of the play.

“Unbeknownst to me” is a good phrase. I've heard it all my life. Some people in the Ozarks say, “Unbeknownst to my back.”

***I saw an Off-Off-Broadway play called Slave Ship.***

Was it about the British ships from Ireland, loaded with “rebels” and convicts along with their families and sold in the NEW WORLD as slaves?

Didn’t think so.

Re blacks voting again for Obama -—

Yesterday I drove through Baltimore City (usually my destinations do not require this) and I saw several 4’x8’ billboards, similar to those that candidates put up. They were “Obama blue” and read
WE’VE GOT YOUR BACK
PRESIDENT OBAMA
VOTE DEMOCRAT [This O was his logo]

I wonder who paid for these campaign signs to be put up?
They really startled me. Has the race war begun? Maybe I should listen to some ‘black’ talk radio from time to time, because none of the conservative-leaning programs that I tune in, ever mentioned these blatant signs.

Yes, I know all about Peter Faneuil. He gave Faneuil Hall to the City of Boston. He and the Forbes and the Cabots were big traders.

We learned in school about the slave trade and triangular trade route but there have been some questions about the validity of all that. Yes, that type of trade existed but was not a big part of the economy - or at least not as big as our teachers suggested.

Apparently the slaves that came to this country were only a small fraction of the many who went to South America and the Islands. Those slaves weren’t as lucky because a large percentage died of fever and malnourishment. The blacks who were shipped to this country were smaller in number and had a higher survival rate.

Slaves to the tropical countries were used to death. Slaves brought to America were bred and considered to be financial assets.

I wonder if the descendants of the former slaves in the Caribbean and South America are getting reparations. :0)
