I and the rest of the local TEA party members worked our butts off for Harmer. A pox on the 8,000 AIP party members that threw their votes away, and may have given the seat to the donkeys. 8,000 idiots.

Same thing in CO. Buck would have won for sure without the third parties. So sad.

The 8,000 AIP members may have been idiots, but not because they wanted to vote for their party's candidate, but because they thought by signing up to the AIP they were registering as Independents and voting for a fellow Independent.

The California AIP really should change its name to the Constitution or Conservative Party to see what their true level of support is. Lots of really stupid or confused people sign up for the AIP thinking they are registering as independents. Even Gavin Newsome's ultraliberal wife accidentally signed up as AIP.

But of course the greedy/vain bastards that run the AIP will never do so because they would rather get lots of confused people signing up to swell their ranks than get a true accounting of their support.

I generally support people voting third party, but only if they clearly understand what they are doing.

Libertarian Party got 11,000 votes in CD 8 in AZ...so our great candidate Jesse Kelly, lost by 4,000 votes.....I feel your pain.

It’s sad. I looked back at the 08 results to see if anything changed...turnout this time was very low but that didn’t necessarily cost Harmer. McNerney had about 2x as many votes last time around, yet we still couldn’t dump him. Also, in 08 there was no meaningful 3rd party drain...elfin AIP ass hats.

For better or worse, 3rd parties won’t be appearing in the CA general election in the future thanks to the prop passed in the summer that lets only the two top vote getters from the primaries in the general.
