Kristallnacht Goes Political, Germany Features Pro-PA Jew

This year’s Kristallnacht event in Germany hosts a former German Jew, whose presence inherently connects the pogrom with his known opposition to a Jewish presence in Judea and Samaria and his blame of Israel for “promoting anti-Semitism globally.”

In what may signal a desire of Germans to leave the past further behind them, Germany hosted a French-German intellectual – in a church – who fled the Nazi regime in 1933 and did not experience the horrors of the Holocaust but now equates Gaza with a concentration gap.

Kristallnacht, or the “night of broken glass,” occurred on this day in 1938, when dozens of synagogues were burned and thousands of German Jews either killed or rounded up.

“Kristallnacht Goes Political”

I hate it when people say that. Obviously, the observance already is political. Indeed, it isn’t really anything but political. Insofar as it is historical, its political history we’re talking about, and the entire point is for that history not to be repeated.

Or have I missed my guess, and Nazis are invited and treated as equal participants in the remembrance?

The bastard isn't an intellectual. Thanks Nachum.

Here comes another one of my ultra-controversial, hyper-offensive posts. Therefore let me state at the outset that what I am about to say represents myself and myself only. Now I suggest a brief period of mental preparation before reading further. And wideawake, I'm pinging you because you are my friend and can possibly understand the point I am trying to make.

This whole thing illustrates the radical transformation of the Jewish mission to the world. At Mt. Sinai, the most important and central event in world history, Israel was charged with observing and learning the Torah and teaching the knowledge of the True G-d and the Noachide Laws to all the nations of the world. This framework has been obliterated. Now instead Jews are the Chosen People of Secularism, the people chosen by history to shame the world into abandoning religion by their sufferings. HaShem has disappeared (G-d forbid!). Instead "tolerance" and "diversity" are now the justifications of Jewish existence.

Public schools cannot teach Jewish history prior to two thousand years ago because that history constitutes "chr*stian religious mythology." Jewish holidays (with the partial exception of Chanukkah, its proximity to a chr*stian holiday it predates and absence from the Protestant bible being taken advantage of to make it into a holiday celebrating the ideology of the American Civil Liberties Union) are unknown. Instead another calendar representing another religion, this one with Jews at center stage, has taken its place.

In this new religion the Jewish People popped out of nowhere exactly two thousand years ago for the sole purpose of being persecuted by "religious fanatics." The entire truncated Jewish history then becomes a (lehavdil!) "passion play." The early chr*stian Roman emperors stripped them of their garments; the medieval pogromers, crusaders, and inquisitionists crowned them with thorns and tore out their beards; and finally, the grand finale--the crucifixion at Auschwitz, at which the Jews bore in their bodies the atonement of the world for believing in religion. If one Jew died two thousand years ago to put an end to one religion, six million died to put an end to all the others.

So now a new G-dless but somehow "Jewish" liturgical calendar arises, centered on the great feasts of Holocaust Memorial Day and Kristallnacht. G-dless schools which dare not mention the source of all morality have elaborate programs at which Holocaust survivors declaim at length on hatred and our moral responsibility to combat it--without ever a single time mentioning the only reason morality exists at all. It is as if there were some liberal version of Roman Catholics' "natural law," some sort of natural, neutral moral standard that exists out there somewhere which dares to sit in judgment on all gods and all religions--even the True One. Because, after all, it was belief in Absolute Religious Truth that led to the Holocaust in the first place. Never again!

After these G-dless liturgical celebrations and "moral" instructions the survivor (if he/she is Orthodox) goes to an Orthodox shul and proclaims HaShem Melekh Malkhey HaMelakhim--literally "the King of the Kings of the Kings." But once we depart the shul door we all have to get along, and all religions must submit to the moral judgment of secular humanism's "natural law."

Sinai is unconstitutional. Let us never name the name of G-d, but meditate on Auschwitz. Surely that is all we need to keep it from happening again--right???

Okay. Now let the hatin' begin.

Comforting to some Germans I suppose, but were Gaza a concentration camp it would have been unhabited years ago. Germany knows best of all how quickly a million people can be killed. Whoever invited this guy didn't paint Germany in a very good light.
