New Delhi: The Left may have staged protests during his visit but US President Barack Obama was "glad" to meet an Indian communist leader last evening.
"I am glad to meet an Indian communist. I am told that communists have been part of the (Indian) political mainstream," Obama told CPM Politburo member Sitaram Yechury at the Rashtrapati Bhawan banquet as they were introduced and both shook hands.
Yechury told Obama that the Indian communists have been in the political mainstream "throughout".
Marking a departure from their past practice, leaders and MPs of the CPM and CPI, known for their anti-US stance, had attended Obama's speech in Parliament last evening.

I thought it was satire too. I guess I’m not over the being shocked phase yet. A wounded Marxist is a dangerous one. The narcissist in chief has been rejected as of Nov. 2. It’s gonna get a whole lot worse.

Comrade Sparky doesn’t have to go very far to meet an American communist, he’s put loads of them into his administration. A Van Jones type is never far away. Van Jones got thrown under the bus because he was clearly a Marxist. Yet we are told that it was an "oversight", that they are not into Marxist theory.

Communism IS a dirty word. And where in the hell are the agencies in this country that are suppose to round em’ up and put em’ away?
Remember the popular radio program of the late 40s-early 50s, starring Dana Andrews, entitled “I was a communist for the FBI?” It was a true story of a U.S citizen posing as a communist agent for the FBI.
Where IS the FBI??????? Is the House UnAmerican Activities Committee still in existence?
