My guess as well but I wonder why their initial response is to deny a test.


Why the secrecy over a launch that is viewable by millions of Californians and then acted surprised when people ask questions?

Makes no sense.

This is what NORAD uses and what us tax payers paid for to find missile launches.

The sensor's purpose is to detect, locate, and identify targets of interest that are intense sources of IR radiation. The Defense Support Program geosynchronous satellites & other spacecraft provided continuous warning of launches & explosions during the Operation Iraqi Freedom campaign in early 2003.

If not, they just didn't care, and it simply needed to be launched.
