John McCain looks bad in George W. Bush's book

Sen. John McCain never asked then-President George W. Bush to campaign for him in 2008, though Bush thinks he could have helped the Arizona senator.

In his forthcoming memoir, “Decision Points,” Bush explores his “complex relationship” with McCain.

“I understood he had to establish his independence,” Bush wrote. “I thought it looked defensive for John to distance himself from me. I was confident I could have helped him make his case. But the decision was his. I was disappointed I couldn’t do more to help him.”

The 43rd president suggests his opponent for the Republican nomination in 2000 blew an opportunity to capitalize politically on the financial crisis eight years later. Without saying it explicitly, Bush portrays then-Sen. Barack Obama as more presidential than McCain in his handling of the financial crisis.

So far, it seems that the only way McLame looks good is when he is compared to 0bamao.

lose-lose proposition....GWB could have never helped him enough. He had no chance. The next go-round, we better find a true conservative to run, or we will have the same results.

My memory may be foggy...

But I remember John McCain running back to DC during the financial crisis, having hopes he would stand against TARP or have a better solution. But in the end he fell in line with everyone else on Capitol Hill.

I seem to remember Obama not really saying a lot on it. Saying he did not want to interfere with Pres Bush's decision and letting Bush shoot the Republican party in the foot on it.

For me I have a great deal of respect for the John McCain that served at Hanoi Hilton and refused to be released until all others were. I do not recognize that character in the John McCain of the last 20 years or so.

I'll say it explicitly. Juan McCain came across as Aunt Bee from Mayberry, running around all flustered and screaming "stop the campaign! stop the campaign!" and scurrying off to Washington to end up voting for that stupid bill anyway... a bill that didn't need his vote to pass anyway.... a bill that was a piece'o'crap anyway.

Barry just played it cool and did what his handlers told him to do and looked about a zillion times more presidential than a) Mother Hen McCain and b) he (Barry) actually is.

John Sidney McCain Looks bad. Period. He is loony tunes. He and the duct-taped Cindy (who embezzled from her own charity) remind me of Boris and Natasha.

McLame should look bad in anyone’s book.

And Jorge doesn’t look so good, either.

Yeah, Bush in 2008 was not riding too high. The never defended himself against the leftist MSM attacks and his base was not enthusiastic about him. However, since then the president after him has set an all time low and people looking back now are re-assessing Bush and remembering things were actually pretty good under him.

And now we know the real reason OholyO didn’t do or say anything during the financial crisis. He 1) didn’t have a script, and 2) no one told him what to say.

Game over.

I will give him credit for keeping his mouth shut at the right time to prevent removing any doubt as to the man’s complete lack of a brain.
