George W Bush has suggested that Republican leader Sarah Palin is "unqualified" and she spoiled the party's 2008 presidential election campaign, a top aide of the former US President has said.
"Naming Palin makes Bush think less of McCain as a man. He thinks McCain ran a lousy campaign with an unqualified running mate and destroyed any chance of winning by picking Palin," a Republican official close to Bush was quoted as saying by the 'New York Daily News'.
Bush suggested that the 46-year-old glamorous former Alaskan governor is not at all qualified to be President and criticised Senator John McCain for picking her as his Running Mate in 2008, the report said.
Matt Latimer, former special assistant to Bush, wrote in a book released last year: "'I'm trying to remember if I've met her before. I'm sure I must have'. (Bush's) eyes twinkled, then he asked, 'What is she, the governor of Guam?'"
Bush has been disparaging about Palin in the past.
lmao!!
And any who are designated as the miligners(sp).
Ok this story has been floating all over the place the past couple of days

Right ... the BS detector is up sky high on this
piece of junk.
Think of scummy people like the fired Scott McClellan
as the type who would do this. Not buying at all that
this is from Pres. Bush.
You are right, he was polite. He didn’t come out and criticize Palin. He said it in a private conversation. He should have the honesty to say he would never support a presidential candidate who was more conservative than John McCain.
Many hit pieces from here on out. Lots of freepers expect and demolish these hit pieces. Game is always afoot.
I think I will write Bush a note. Couldn’t find an e-mail address except the Bush Presidential Library. But here is his mail address:
President George Bush
P.O. Box 259000
Dallas, TX 75225-9000
As governor of Alaska, Palin had a higher clearance than the other three candidates.
Aside from as governor being the governor of the furthest north state, the furthest east state, the furthest west state, and the only state with a border on two countries.
Normally, I would agree, that you shouldn’t jump to conclusions about stories like this. But we’ve let things go for too long. Time to back any and all Republicans into a corner.
meant to say that he needs to know that if he does not refutiate this rumor it’s going to cost him a whole truck load of book sales.
And the part that he said ‘he thinks less of McCain as a man’ sounds nothing like Bush; nothing.
Personally, I wish he’d just stay silent, I know he is out trying to sell a book though. Whoever released this garbage knew because Bush is out giving interviews that it’s believable that he said this recently. I’m not buying it until I hear it from him. My gut says it’s that fat maggot Rove. I never liked him but now despise him after finding out how he tried to sabatoge the tea party in DE plus his rant on FOX. He’s trash.
According to a “top aide”.
Go Sarah, don’t let anything stop you!
Recognize concerted BS for what it is. This is just the opening rounds of the same subtle crap that worked so well for the democrat fascists during he Bush years. The fact that they're at it again is no surprise but the fact that so many comment on it is a surprise. Look, Bush said openly on Oprah that he wasn't taking sides in the presidential or any other election and that he didn't want dragged back into the swamp. When you're so bored that you're leafing through the democrat propaganda, quit doing so and dig around to see why and when Bush might have called politics a swamp before.
If anyone should be taking shots for not supporting anyone else, it's a huge number of Republicans who should be taking shots for not supporting Bush and then when he was between a rock and a hard place based on everyone eating up democrat propaganda, those same Republicans wondered why he didn't try and do anything about domestic issues. How the hell could he? Over half of those calling themselves “Republican” in Congress were taking shots at Bush to distract the folks back home from how busy they were stealing all they could get.
The point isn't that Republicans need trashed for not supporting Bush, either. The point is that if you're going to keep watching he rear view mirror and lapping up obvious democrat propaganda how are you going to hang together until 2012? You better damn well hang together, too, because if the fascists ever again get even a simple majority in both houses at the same time that they hold the executive branch you can kiss your chances of another Tea Party movement working goodbye along with what few freedoms you still have left.
Look folks, we're fighting tooth and nail to try and unravel the total socialism fiend unleashed on us so couldn't we wait a while to fight each other? Like, until we've at least repealed Obamacare, put GM and Chrysler back in private hands, reigned in or shut down Fannie and Freddie, shut off the fire hydrant of money flowing to the democrat “education” system, and a few other tidbits?
JMHO

Lunacy ...
Why are you posting bullshit on Free Republic?
It seems to there has been a lot of disnformation that serves to sow disagreement within the Conservative movement from anonymous sources quoted in the Press recently.
Don’t get swayed by what is being reported in the lamestream media.
It’s just another HE SAID HE SAID game of the left and the RINOs.
Let’s believe it if we actually hear GWB saying the same thing. NO PROOF EXCEPT THE RINO’s allegations.
By the way, Perrino (also a Palin-basher) has already debunked this lie ‘bout Guam meme.
Palin is a big target these days. I expect we will continue to see lots of hit pieces like this in the future.
Levin has exposed a couple of articles that suggested things like this.
Clearly the media wants to attack Palin and pit the Tea Party against establishment Republicans and create any type of chaos they can.
Keep your eye on the target.
Not Bush’s style at all. He has too much class.
