The American Geophysical Union plans to announce Monday that 700 researchers have agreed to speak out on the issue. The effort is a pushback against congressional conservatives who have vowed to kill regulations on greenhouse gas emissions.
"This group feels strongly that science and politics can't be divorced and that we need to take bold measures to not only communicate science but also to aggressively engage the denialists and politicians who attack climate science and its scientists," said Scott Mandia, professor of physical sciences at Suffolk County Community College in New York.

Show us un-twiddled science and we might want to learn more.
But, as long as you rely on fancy guesses and “consensus” you deserve the epithet of “ignorant”.

"Climate scientists plan campaign against global-warming skeptics "
After being trained in sales and being in sales for a long, long time, I am amazed that this buncho of evioro-loonies chose the wording, "plan against skeptics".
Whether your selling cars, shoes, or ideas, you can't convince someone to buy your product by using something AGAINST them.
They come on like the "charge of the liars brigade" and tell us we'll believe it or else. Well, what could we expect from today's "chicago" style salesmanship.
What we're seeing here is a formation of another brigade of "thought police". It doesn't matter what you think, or if you believe in GW, but they are going to make you support it, or ELSE.
Global Warming is the biggest hoax ever, with obamacare coming in a close second.
So you dipsticks start your campaign based on lies - it's a hoax and everyone knows it.

From the article...
“Climate-change skeptics argued that the sniping in some e-mails showed that scientists suppressed research by skeptics and manipulated data. Five independent panels subsequently cleared the researchers involved and validated the science.”
WHERE? Where is this? I have yet to see the reports from the independent panels.

The purpose is not to convince the skeptics, but to intimidate them — pretty soon they will be declared “heretics” and burned at the stake.

Pull their funding. The National Science Foundation either has to be fixed, or abolished. As it is, it’s doing more harm than good, hopping on board the left wing political agenda and rewarding people for global warming, fetal stem cell research, cancer-causing contraceptives, and other bogus projects.
Yes, some of what they support is real science, but less and less of it every day. Time to go back to square one and start over.

That’s all that side does - they SPEAK OUT. They scream at us, they bully us, they lie and try to frighten the children. Lucky for them the MSM is on their side - as usual. Bad for them that no one cares what the MSM says...

Scott Mandia, professor of physical sciences at Suffolk County Community College in New York. Are you really a "professor," if you teach physics at a community college?
Anyway, the arrogance of the education cabal never fails to delight.

Yes, but they are still working with old logic where the silent majority stayed silent.
Their problem is the paradigm has shifted and they do not realize this, yet!

“pretty soon they will be declared heretics and burned at the stake.”
Well, probably hung with hemp rope. Burning adds too much carbon, and drowning is out because of the drastic shortage of drinkable water. A firing squad involves guns, lead, and excess noise pollution.
Hanging, though, is probably OK, as long as it’s with organic hemp.

Got to love Ghost Busters! Actually, I think the best quote that applies here is; "Dr Ray Stantz: Personally, I liked the university. They gave us money and facilities, we didn't have to produce anything! You've never been out of college! You don't know what it's like out there! I've *worked* in the private sector. They expect *results*." Pretty much sums it all up.
