CNN ^ | Nov. 7, 2010 | Tom Cohen

Republicans interviewed on talk shows promised congressional investigations, an all-out effort to repeal health care reform, and steadfast opposition to any form of higher taxes.

When asked what they would do with their greater power, GOP legislators offered a hard-line agenda that left little room for middle-ground compromise.

The American people have spoken -- we do NOT want Republicans to roll over for the Democrats.

Repeal healthcare! Cut taxes! Cut spending!

NO compromise.

The Democrats were never interested in compromise the past two years they ran Washington.

And the MSM talks of a “hardline GOP agenda?” That’s not what it called the Democrats’ ramming socialism down our throats.

Let me state the message very clearly: Elections have consequences. We won. End of discussion.

They’d better get a really fast hold on anyone who starts talking ‘reaching across the aisle’. Really fast.

Even now the Dem’s definition of compromise is for the GOP to roll over and go along with the Dems, not for the Dems to compromise.

Pelosi move is a sign that Democrats intend to fight the GOP, not cut deals

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2623204/posts

“Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s aim to remain the leader of House Democrats is an indication the party is ready to go to war with Republicans in the next Congress, not cut deals across the aisle. “

Actually, insisting from the beginning on everything we want makes it easier to force huge concessions from the anti-Constitutionalists in order to reach a "half-way" compromise.

We want the elimination of the income tax, the elimination of all Unconstitutional spending, and no more deficit spending. So the "half-way" compromise is to cut the income tax in half, reduce the Federal budget by 40%, and reduce Federal borrowing by 50%.

Why don’t we build paupers hospitals. When I was a kid it was cheap. But there were wards with 30 beds. We could also pass medical bills through bankruptcy like student loans and taxes. That would give incentives to buy insurance. Managed care should also be outlawed. Community rates could be applied with no pre-existing. Medicaid coverage should not be for private rooms and such but should offer good care on an inexpensive basis with no mal-practice suits allowed. We are broke.

Reminds me of the old joke about hitting a mule with a two-by-four.

First, we had to get their attention...

Funny how the media, not once in the past two years, referred to the dems inflexibility as “taking a hard line”.

The phrase suddenly enters the narrative now that the Rs have some power of their own.

The Federal Reserve must be controlled also. Without that control, they rule our lives.

did anyone else notice how on Nov. 1 Obama was talk about republicans as the enemy and on Nov. 3 "it's not about Republicans and Democrats. It's about creating jobs..."

What a spineless dust-eater-in-chief he is.

The Democrats were never interested in compromise the past two years they ran Washington.

Correctomuundo! The Demorats’ definition of compromise was for Repubs to sign on to the Dems’ bound-to-fail agenda so they (Repubs) could share the blame.
