To: Old Student

I don’t know what their current standards are but they have taken a number of shorter people; I served with a few in the early 70s. Take a look at the Wikipedia biography of General Victor H. Krulak and in particular the group picture from 1967; he was 5’4”.

One of my troops, back in the late 80’s, was 4’11-7/8th” tall, and failed the physical for the Air Force Academy because of her height. No other reason, just height. USAF &*#%ed up REALLY bad doing that. I learned a lot about managment from this young lady, and she was one of the best technicians I’ve ever worked with, in three different career fields. I’ve no doubt she’d be a General by now, and probably of the sort of stature that Admiral Grace Hooper has in the Navy, if she’d gotten to go.
