Perhaps a year or so after he became SecDef, I saw a copy of secret decision briefing given him. It laid out the options, explained the pros and cons, and left him to decide. About a month later, I watched him publicly blame the military for carrying out his decision, and blasting us for not ‘caring enough’ about our fellow soldiers and marines.
I’ve despised this buttboy ever since. I will lay claim to being one of the first on FR to loathe him, but then, I saw the classified briefing so I knew what happened behind the scenes. All I could do in public was warn FReepers that Gates is a liar.

We’ve fallen off a cliff - Our President is a terrorist loving Marxist intent on bankrupting our beloved country and our Secretary of Defense wants to destroy the mightiest military in the world.
