The headline quote sounds like someone is talking "semi-war". Do we really want or need [another!] one of those?

If we just go pecking at them [limited or even substantial air-strikes, Naval action, etc] then what will we be doing, but what the Osama Bin Laden's of this world WANT us to do --- so they can see themselves justified in whatever murder of Westerners they can accomplish?

Why hasten the [prophesied] day when spirits rise up among men causing them to kill each other? (or is that day already here?)
