The people have spoken: 'Obamacare' must go
The message of these midterm elections is that Americans reject the president's plan for government to run their lives

As are millions of my fellow Americans, I am extremely angry, outraged and devastated by the Democrats' unbelievable arrogance and disdain for "we the people". Despite our screaming "no" from the rooftops, they forced Obamacare down our throats. Please forgive me for using the crude expression, but it is very appropriate to describe what has happened: "Don't urinate on me and tell me it's raining."

Democrats say that their mission is to give all Americans healthcare. The Democrats are lying. Signing Obamacare into law against our will and the constitution is tyranny, and step one of their hideous goal of having as many Americans as possible dependent on government, thus controlling our lives and fulfilling Obama's promise to fundamentally transform America.

I keep asking myself: how did our government move so far from the normal procedures of getting things done? Could a white president have so successfully pulled off shredding the constitution to further his agenda? I think not.

Ironically, proving that America is completely the opposite of the evil, racist country they relentlessly accuse her of being, progressives used America's goodness, guilt and sense of fair play against her. In their quest to destroy America as we know it, progressives borrowed a brilliant scheme from Greek mythology. They offered America a modern-day Trojan horse, a beautifully crafted, golden, shiny new black man as a presidential candidate. Democrat Joe Biden lauded Obama as the first clean and articulate African American candidate. Democrat Harry Reid said that Obama uses a black dialect only when he wants to.

Is it worth it to register just to unload back at these fools? I’m sick of the Left screaming at us, and it’s time to start cussing them out.

It’s baffling that the only straight-forward common sense articles about U.S. politics are published in U.K. newspapers. U.S. publishers are totally in the tank for the DNC.

Good for Lloyd Marcus. I know that all the left wing media print an occasional op-ed piece from the opposition, but I’m really amazed that the Communist Guardian would allow something like this to appear in their newspaper.

Aha. I just read that little comment down at the bottom of the article:

This is Lloyd Marcus's final blog for the Guardian's Inside the Tea Party coverage of the 2010 US midterm elections

Hail and fairwell! You really put that shot right into their guts, Marcus!

Too bad I don’t care to register on the site to post comments. I could easily knock down every stupid thing they say.

“”Leftists unload in the comments.””

I noticed! I just cleaned off my worktable this a.m. and got rid of that horrendous healthcare bill printout as I’m tired of looking at it. I lived with it for months and fought it with everyone else and to what end? Just glancing at it again made me sick.

I would like to give just ONE page of it to each of those idiots commenting on Lloyd Marcus and his message and tell them to explain what anything on just one page means. I sent excerpts to congresscritters at the time of the battle, asking the same thing and no one had any explanations of the contents. Since they didn’t read it, they couldn’t be expected to be able to explain it, I guess. I defy anyone to tell us what any one of those 2200+ pages means.

I’m getting a headstart on Open Enrollment for Medicare today. An eye opener! A lot of rosy words from people selling the supplemental or Medicare Advantage policies but
other articles have the stats on the decreased number of companies and coverages available now. We weren’t going to lose a thing, were we?

I guess we’ll all be FORCED to accept the government plan of Original Medicare which we pay for every month anyway.
Anyone who has any tips for getting through the mess, please let me know.

Probably not. Let them rant in full view on the world wide web. 2012 is right around the corner (and they know it).

The comments at the site are fascinating, if not scary. Such a clear contrast!

They are universally baffled as to who could rationally be opposed to "Free" healthcare.

They do not understand the inflections of the word "free."

As Eric Raymond explained it, "free, as in free speech, not free beer."

And they likewise cannot understand the nuance between "equality of opportunity, and equality of outcome."

I thought Europeans were so well versed in nuance!?

SteveJinSoCal 5 November 2010 7:20PM Bye Bye Lloyd, don't forget to turn out the light... I'm still none the wiser as to what your rabid rabble stand for. I'm really hoping that an elected Tea Party or Tea Party sponsored GOP member can actually provide us with details on the following: How to ensure fair and affordable healthcare for all How to reduce the US deficit whilst maintaining the drain on GDP that is the military machine How to get America back to work - and please don't say "encourage small businesses". Do you even realise how many small businesses you'll need? Oh got it... Tax cuts for the rich...

300Spartans 5 November 2010 7:33PM I agree, we don't need some watered-down half-hearted health care program, we need a single-payer wholesale overhaul of what's been repeatedly found to be one of the most wasteful and corrupt health care systems ever devised. And I for one won't settle for anything else no matter how many knuckle-draggers get in my way, right or left.

LondonManc 5 November 2010 7:33PM Ah yes. Remind me again - somewhere in the constitution it mentions the right to free speech, free trial and the freedom to fall through the cracks, and be denied healthcare, unsupported by any state-sponsored healthcare, because you lack the means to pay for health insurance. Sure it's in there somewhere, and I can see why it would make you - an articulate, educated, moderately well-off, well-supported man - absolutely livid that the Democrats decided to stamp all over that right. I'm with you - I mean really, where do they get off with this radical liberalism, suggesting that everyone should have access to healthcare??

Paul1318 5 November 2010 8:12PM Wow, this is crazy. I mean, you can criticize Obama for his terrible handling of the economy, or for being an inept leader at times, but for wanting every American to have access to Healthcare? I have always thought that a casic tenet of civilized society should be access to Healthcare for all. Equality for all. Isnt that what the US was founded on? But no, as Lloyd makes painfully clear, the US isnt about equality for all, it is about ensuring that Insurance Companies get rich managing a wasteful Healthcare system while 40million US citizens are unable to afford any kind of coverage. Yep, those are the beliefs that the US is founded upon! God help us all.

Wow. Free speech yes. Free beer, like a free lunch, no. Sorry! Reality bites.

Leftists unload in the comments.

They only show themselves as unwilling to think. For example:

Universal health care is a basic human right

A right, by definition, is someone's freedom to do things. You have a right to live, for example. But rights are not obligations; you can't force a stranger to give you $1,000,000 for a life-saving surgery that you need.

Or to push it to the extreme: you are seriously sick and can survive only in weightless conditions, like in orbit or in the Moon. You have a right to do your best to survive. But do you have a right to demand that every person on Earth gives up all his savings for last 10 years to build a spaceship just for you, so you can fly to the Moon and live there happily, enjoying weekly resupply missions and all that?

So there is a huge difference between the right to live and the obligation (on others!) to treat you. There aren't enough resources on the planet to keep people alive; millions of old people could be timely given transplants so that they can live for another year or so. But they don't get those, just because there aren't enough transplants and doctors for everyone who needs them. A right can't be selective, especially if it is "universal" as that liberal claims. But healthcare even technically can't be provided to absolutely everyone, except the most basic form of it, which the USA has. Foreign schemes just raise the bar by taking more money from the taxpayer; but even there if you need very expensive treatments you aren't likely to get them.

We all need to be sending letters, emails, faxes, calling reps both sides of the aisle and reenforcing the fact that we did not APPROVE of this bill. It was not read and it was not reviewed by the people yet obama and his cohorts pushed it through anyway by back room deals. So, this is HIS healthcare. NOT that of the American people and we should stay on this like bees on honey until they DO repeal it and start over! THAT is the ONLY solution. How can we reform something we have never seen. NO, REPEAL IS THE ANSWER.

I defy anyone to tell us what any one of those 2200+ pages means.

They can start here ---> Ezekiel (Dr. Death) Emmanuel's Listening Session of the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research

Be sure not to miss the 'Address subpopulations' and 'Address disparities and cultural differences' sections.
