Dan Malloy has defeated Republican Tom Foley to become the first Democrat in two decades to be elected governor of Connecticut.
The Associated Press on Friday reinstated its call of Malloy as the winner of the governor's race.
The AP initially called Malloy the winner on Wednesday, after Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz said her preliminary count showed Malloy had won by 3,103 votes, but withdrew the call Wednesday night when its vote count, with all but a handful of precincts reporting, showed Foley with a narrow lead.
Bridgeport elections officials handed the final numbers over to Bysiewicz on Friday afternoon.
Has a Republican ever won a close race other than Pres. Bush in 2000?
The Democrats always find enough votes to win.
Which begs the question...did he REALLY win? or did they cheat immensely?
It was bloody fixed.
He should call for a recount, or at least an investigation into the “recovered” ballots.
The latter.
Earlier today on the radio I heard they “found” some bags or boxes of votes they’d missed until now. (Not joking.)
Democrat "holds a narrow lead:" Congratulations, Mr. Governor.
The paid for votes weren’t found until later.
An uncounted bag of votes suddenly appears...where have we seen that before?
Democrats are stealing the election. I hope Foley follows through and takes it to court.
I heard that too. I bet they were allowed to be used in the final tally. Sickening.
They always keep 10,000 to 20,000 completed ballots in reserve....just in case.
good jpeg FrankR.. then again yours always seem to be directly to the point....
What is the deal with all these close races going to the Dems?? I don’t think we’ve won a single one yet since Tuesday.
i wish the gop will seriously investigate this. Ever since the Bush 2000, every close race recount always go to the DEM. They always find missing ballots. Think the corruption occur with the those who’s actually doing the counting? They may need to consider introducing a different voting system to reduce human being involved in the counting
Thanks, I enjoy doing them.
We haven’t won one since 2000. We lost the Washington Gov race the same way
Suprise suprise.
They do it because they can.
It’s typical. The only way a Republican can win, it seems, is if they have a big majority. Harder to manufacture fake votes in large amounts, I guess.
