Compassionate Communists.
KEEPING PEOPLE ON UNEMPLOYMENT?
That’s exactly what they’re doing.
Give businesses a break so they can hire people, you freakin’ idiots!
Why should the central government provide income for the unemployed at all?
I lost my job a year ago and immediately took a part-time $12/hr job as a delivery driver. I moved to a smaller place and purchased a used vehicle for $1200 to replace the company vehicle I had in my previous job.
People need to take personal responsibility.
We need to end the nanny state and return to federalism.
“Nothing about this regime is moral.”
I cannot, for the life of me, understand what kind of irrational mindset could posit this thinking!
The truth is that most people taking unemployment benefits right now will never return to a job paying as much as the one they had when they became unemployed. The sooner they realize that and get on to finding a new lower market value for their skills, the better off they will be and the better off this entire country will be. “Free trade” has created global wage parity and a lot of US citizens just don’t get it.
The checks keep coming, and these people are virtual waste cases.
One set of parents I know cried to describe to their daughter, high on drugs almost 24/7. When I asked where she got the money to pay for the drugs, they just looked at me and said: "Her unemployment checks."
Another guy I know has been on unemployment for a year and a half. He drinks himself into a stupor every single day. He only leaves the house to get more booze.
