Sounds like a rouse by Comcast to start cleaning up the failing channel. It is about money, and Keith and the rest just don’t bring home the bacon.

This made the decision easier. The cause, reflected in the timing of the firing, is that the FCC has yet to approve the NBC Universal - Comcast merger. Political reality is that the Administration must listen to the incoming Republican-lead House. Further, GE, which at the moment still effectively controls NBC, must now straddle both parties. For the past two years GE has focussed on currying favor with the Democrats.

Olberman was caught in this vice.

We should actually mourn Olberman's passing. His replacement could well be dangerous.

You're kidding, right? His replacement is either going to be Shuster, Crist, or Grayson.

Dangerously stupid, maybe...
