Ex-President George W. Bush rips wisdom of Barack Obama, Sarah Palin and John McCain to friends

WASHINGTON - Two years of retirement haven't dulled George W. Bush's political zest - and President Obama and Sarah Palin are among his under-the-radar targets.

The 43rd President has told friends the ex-Alaska governor isn't qualified to be President and criticizes Arizona Sen. John McCain for putting Palin on the 2008 GOP ticket and handing her a national platform.

"Naming Palin makes Bush think less of McCain as a man," a Republican official familiar with Bush's thinking told the Daily News.

"He thinks McCain ran a lousy campaign with an unqualified running mate and destroyed any chance of winning by picking Palin."

I just want the truth and not an opinion as to the truth.

Thanks for the ACCURATE information, Deb.

The REAL GWB doesn't "rip" or even "critique." He's adamant about that.

It's quite remarkable how easily fooled by the far left some who call themselves conservative are. Any old excuse to badmouth a good man......

You'd think they'd be ashamed to believe leftist garbage, wouldn't you? It's almost as though they trust leftists more than they trust the people who actually have paid attention to who George W. Bush really is....

Then go to the source, and stop believing "LibLies." Find out what George W. Bush really has said rather than believing garbage from 'anonymous' sources.

In addition, there are hundreds of people on this forum who have watched and listened carefully to President Bush, and who know immediately who's lying about what he's said.

It's not just an 'opinion.' It's an 'educated opinion,' which, if you're interested in the truth, you should consider.

I know he is a good man... even though he is more liberal than I like. I supported him in both of his runs, to the maximum allowed by law... I worked phones for him and I went to Florida in 2000 and actually fought for him on the front lines... and those were some insane animals that we were fighting. I just want the truth and bush should call this author a liar if that is what this is. I just want the truth. I agree with what you have said but this article does not need to go unnoticed by Bush.

Thanks, ohioWfan. I could tell by the wording he didn’t say anything of the sort, PLUS, it’s NOT his character to speak ill of her or anyone else for that matter, particularly another Republican who’s never said anything but GOOD about him.

Thanks you very much, DrDeb.

I am busy with the FReepathon thread, so I knew you and/or ohioWfan would have the latest facts.

I knew straight away the quotes were not his and I also knew that the source was NOT Rove either. Rove is not stupid, and President Bush would terminate his friendship were Rove the source.

The source is a liar and nobody close to GWB! ohioWfan might be right: David Frum or that idiot I noted who wrote that horrid ‘tell all (lies) on GWB... what was his name? Matt something-er-other?

Thanks for the links to Oprah. I guess we’ll have to watch or TIVO that show. I’ll look on the DOSE for the date...

One of GWB’s weak points is that he did not fight back against lies.

That weakness disgusted many of us on FR.

G W Bush was unqualified to be president and would not have been elected to anything had his last name not been Bush.

He was a lousy president and helped put his country and his party in a mess, so who cares what he thinks about anything?

LibLieSlayer, Thank you for the work that you have done. It is incredibly frustrating when lies from the left go unchallenged. It would not suprise me to see this article quoted in future attacks against Governor Palin; it would be comforting to hear something from President Bush in addition to his Oprah comments. I wouldn’t hold my breath; he has a history of not responding to this type of thing.

~~~~
Would hope that’s so, but then I never expected to
see the day when he’d sink to the level he has about
Sarah and O’Donnell. I listen to him, and all the
paid pundits now, even on our side, with a much
more discerning ear. They’re put out and ego bruised
because so many ‘amateurs’ were pretty successful
without them, and they’re protecting their own
industry and careers first.
Positively the same with Frum, and he’s a definite possibility.
I see them now as just a different part of the ‘ruling
class,’ so it was a necessary lesson learned.
CrosscutSaw, it is very disheartening to me that you have bought into the liberal media's villainization of President Bush. President G.W. Bush had executive experience in both politics and business and was qualified to be president.
Congress and particularly liberal Democrats did the most to set up the housing market for a fall which was one of the largest contributors to the current economic mess. Obama's attempt to exploit the crisis by funneling hundreds of billions to his cronies and not solve it has kept it going.
Radical regimes in the Middle East needed to be challenged. After 911 there were no more attacks on our country. Our soldiers forced radical Muslims back into hiding.
Could things have gone better? Could Republicans have stuck more closely to the principles of Reagan? Of course. But could the America hating, socialist pigs that have done their best to drag us down for past several years have done better?
and would not have been elected to anything had his last name not been Bush.
Yes, he would have. All nations' leaders are put in place in God's Sovereign will.
He was chosen by God to lead us after 9/11, and he did it with integrity and courage. Sooner or later, all but the extreme left will understand that he was a strong leader.
Are you thinking of that weaselly little ingrate, Scott McClellan, onyx?
HE could be the liar who promoted this trash.
He had his ten minutes in the spotlight and now he's relegated to the trash heap of history. Maybe he's trying to crawl out of the swill.
YES! Scott McClellan! THAT’S THE “THING” whose name I had erased from my mind.
Thank you dearest ((((ohioWfan)))).
He’s the source I first thought about.
I wouldn't put Rove and Frum in the same category.
Frum is a complete self-infatuated pretender. In additon to being an elitist, he never had the President's ear, he never had a whit of influence, and he lies all the time. He's a complete phony.
Rove has certainly disappointed me with his elitist rhetoric lately (some of it....like the "unsophisticated" line, completely misunderstood), but I think that underneath it all, he must be a decent guy. Otherwise he wouldn't have had the President's trust all those years.
He's just wrong, that's all. Not a demon like some around here want to portray him.
He's not the source here. You can count on that. He wouldn't betray W like this.
I had to look his name up. LOL!
I had completely repressed his snake-in-the-grass being, but I remembered that the guy was a (very, very bad) press secretary when the President needed a good one most.
Very unfortunate little twit, Scotty is....
