Ex-President George W. Bush rips wisdom of Barack Obama, Sarah Palin and John McCain to friends

WASHINGTON - Two years of retirement haven't dulled George W. Bush's political zest - and President Obama and Sarah Palin are among his under-the-radar targets.

The 43rd President has told friends the ex-Alaska governor isn't qualified to be President and criticizes Arizona Sen. John McCain for putting Palin on the 2008 GOP ticket and handing her a national platform.

"Naming Palin makes Bush think less of McCain as a man," a Republican official familiar with Bush's thinking told the Daily News.

"He thinks McCain ran a lousy campaign with an unqualified running mate and destroyed any chance of winning by picking Palin."

Palin can’t win. Latest polls show just about every Republican beats Obama in 2012 except for Palin and Newt.

I love them both, but I’m more interested in getting Obama out of office. Palin needs to sit out 2012 so we don’t commit political suicide and repeat Delaware and Nevada.

You nailed it. If Rove were any more jealous of Palin all the pancake make-up in the world couldn’t cover the ugly shade of green he’d turn.
*************************

I see Rove as more of a quivering, mottled maroon and purple when discussing attractive female conservatives. Anyway, I have decided to reform my attitude towards Rove and put him on my Christmas list.

I just need to find a Harry and David’s type of outfit that delivers battered, deep fried saltpork sandwiches and vodka.

I would be more inclined to believe this story if it wasn’t for my innate distrust of The Corrupt Bastards in the media.

Maroon, purple and envy-green are not exclusionary colors. I see him smartly attired in an outfit combining all three, accented by the mud-brown he wallowed in the night of Christine O’Donnell’s win.

FOX did a brief bit of W’s interview Oprah this morning and when asked if he would support Sarah for President, W said “you betcha”. This article is so bogus.

Good! Good post.

I hear ya, MJ. The biggest trouble now is probably all the big-government operatives he’s left behind among the party consultants and apparatus, but he always was about the presidency as a club and an institution ahead of the party principles and conservative movement.

This explains Rove’s behavior...

I've got to hand it to the ruling class (both parties) and their MSM henchmen...they are really ramping up their post-election attacks on Palin, the TPM and conservatives. And they're doing it in what appears to be a coordinated way.

Karl Rove's partner at American Crossroads (and fellow Bushie), Ed Gillespie, is starting to confront conservatives publicly over Palin and denying that he's involved in any way with the anti-Palin campaign:

-- Gillespie called into Mark Levin's show last night and denied being a part of the recent Politico smear job even though his name was mentioned in the article as one of those alarmed about Palin.

-- Marc Thiessen has a piece in the Washington Post yesterday aggressively defending Gillespie from Palin's criticism on how to deal with Obamacare in the Congress. In doing so, Thiessen tried to explain away David Frum's embrace of Gillespie's apparent Obamacare strategy of NOT trying to repeal it outright. Thiesen talked about how he admired Palin but called it "unfortunate" that Palin had chosen to criticize Gillespie:

"Ed Gillespie is a courageous conservative and Tea Party patriot. I think if Sarah Palin got to know Ed a little better she would find a kindred spirit -- and David [Frum] might not be so quick to embrace him."
Whatever Marc. Ed Gillespie may be a lot of things, but calling him a "Tea Party Patriot" is ludicrous.

At any rate, something's up with the Beltway GOP ruling class people. They may be shifting strategy and we need to be on the lookout for it. With all the angst about the Mike Allen/Politico smear job on Palin and its anonymous sources, did Mike Allen tip off what the Beltway GOP might try and do? A few paragraphs from that article are very interesting:

"The stop-Palin talks are by no means coordinated among the various campaigns. But top advisers for most of the 2012 hopefuls told us the candidates — as well as many establishment figures — are fixated on the topic, especially on how to keep her from running or how to deny her the nomination if she does run.

A longtime Republican leader said party elders hope to thwart Palin by strengthening the Republican National Committee, which has been a magnet for controversy and has seen lackluster fundraising under current Chairman Michael Steele, and outside groups such as those blessed by Rove and Gillespie and now spending heavily on congressional races. (See: RNC aims to counter DNC cash edge)

This would represent "a strong counterweight to some kind of guerrilla effort Palin might try to launch." This leader said the party needs to create a unified job creation theme to offset the "cult of personality" that is Palin. "You deter someone by creating stronger opposition."

We need to start paying closer attention to what's going on behind the curtains in the DC GOP establishment. And yes, I think Team Bush is in this up to their necks.

This is the veriest nonsense, lies and smears on the same page with a link to an article that says President Bush was the "lamest duck ever," accompanied by this picture of W:

I have my disagreements with some of President Bush's policies, but he isn't the one talking to empty high-school gyms and other under-attended venues. He's a fine man, and the only person I've seen trashing other Republicans -- breaking Reagan's 11th commandment -- is the vile RINO Karl Rove. I can't believe he's so out of touch.

Whoever our candidate is for president, if this slime ball starts trashing him/her, he needs to be told to go back to the CP-USA where he belongs.

He also got punked by a district judge. That kind of weakness is lethal for an executive.

I just caught a bit of the Oprah bite but understood that it was JEB Bush who was asked about voting for Palin and his reply was YOU BETCHA. When George was told this by Oprah in hopes of getting him to cough up his feelings about Palin, he said he would not get in that swamp. Then they laughed. Holding my opinion on this article as it is an obvious plant by whoever to continue to try and drive Palin negatives up. As was done with O'Donnell. These cockroaches are in the same game with Rove. Hired guns by big money. Who would that be? Some individual and/or a support group for a pre selected candidate we may or may not be acquainted with as yet? We will know in the fullness of time of course, but better now than later that we know what and who we are up against.

The ugly secret is we don’t really have an anti amnesty candidate out there. No matter how any of them couch the truth or parse the words, they all have not rejected amnesty.

The 1st one that actually claims they will shut the borders, try(for the 1st time) to actually enforce existing law for a few years, get rid of anchor baby status, get rid of the criminals, and then we’ll talk about it, will be my person.

and he never said this part:

that it’s time for the Republican Party to give up its “nostalgia” for the heyday of the Reagan era and look forward, even if it means stealing the winning strategy deployed by Democrats in the 2008 election.
