I heard the NRSC had a miserable GOTV operation in Nevada. The overall neglect by the “leaders” is what hurt, unlike the apparent support for Murko. Cornyn is a back stabber.

Unions are the reason. Reid's camp had been telling people that they were underestimating their ground operation. With 70% of the votes coming from Clark County, the ground game there mattered. Hard to overcome Casino executes pressuring their employees to vote for Reid.
Obama won the Nevada primary with Reid's machine help, they even put voting booths in the casinos.
