Taking Governorship, Congressional Seat from GOP: While the momentum across the country this Nov. 2 election was largely with Republicans, in Hawaii, the trend was the opposite leading some to call Republicans an endangered species.

From the faraway land , a part of America that most people only think about when they are planning a vacation , we are in deep kimchee out here : Ignored by the RNC and under the power of a totally inept local Hawaii Republican Party .
We 'New Republican Party' and combined Tea Party members humbly request your support and advice as we gird ourselves for 2012 battles , yet to come .
We invite Vets for Freedom to focus out here . We invite Tea Party Patriots to focus out here . Hawaii IS important , we are the front line facing Asia .
Don't forget about us !
California feels your pain.
The defeat of Charles Djou was a dissapointment. I thought he’d be able to hang on for at least one full term. It’s clear that the DemocRAT political machine still holds sway.
bttt
The GOP has always been an endangered species in Hawaii.
What is the problem, friend. Are the common people in your state as poor as West Virginia rersidents, or is it envy against the rich turistas that the common people have to serve, that from a feeling of being left behind, they turn Democratic. Please explain.
Now it’s time to start eradicating the pestilential Democrats out there by cutting off the earmarks and various defense related construction projects.
Right. Cut the spending in CA and NY first. Tell them that they need to raise their state taxes to cover their wasteful spending habits.
I don’t know how long I could live there, no matter how beautiful it is, but I do care about the people there (and in California).
Our college-aged granddaughter is planning to attend a conference in Hawaii next summer...she will get the usual liberal spiel in the conference—we just hope she gets to visit Pearl Harbor while she is there.
I think the problem is that Dems organize and communicate very well with one another , they don’t ‘in-fight’ like the Republicans do . Their elected ones DO have coat-tails and candidates avail themselves of them . Repubs do not offer any coat-tails , it’s sink or swim , on your own . And by the way , find your own funding too ! Dems have their own hero core out here : Dan Inouye foremost . So many older Japanese , Filipino and Hawaiian totally idolize him . If he says vote for so&so , they vote for so&so . The Unions are subtle , deep and powerful , as is org.crime . If they support a Dem . their rank & file fall in line. The Unions serve amazing bento feeds , they literally buy votes with lots of chow . Islanders love to eat (free!)
Hawaii Dems are Dems before and over the fact that they are Hawaiian , Filipino or any other ethnic , before they are Christians , before they are Jewish , before they are businesspersons . D comes first , period . They suffer from a collective historical myopia . Terrible past histories in their candidates records matter not at all . All that matters is that they are the current D on the ballot .
“While the momentum across the country this Nov. 2 election was largely with Republicans,”
Was largely Republican? Largely?... LOL... Try a magnitude 14 quake with a tsunami for good measure.
Gee, think they would have phrased that a little differently had the roles been reversed?
Right after the Delaware primary I took a look at Hawaii. I though Cam Cavasso looked old and creepy. I preferred John Roco, even though I didn’t think he was a serious candidate.
I just thought Cam was awful. I thought that the tea party should throw in a bunch of money to Roco, not a ton, but a bunch, and get a more exciting, less gay looking, candidate in there, a young outsider who could call Inouye old, and could surf.
I hear Cam got slaughtered.
Those results make me spew.
It was pretty bad. He lost by a 3-1 margin.
If I want to spend time cooped up on islands full of people who hate me, it’s a much shorter flight to pretty much anywhere in the Caribbean.
“If I want to spend time cooped up on islands full of people who hate me, its a much shorter flight to pretty much anywhere in the Caribbean.”
That attitude in Hawaii doesn’t get much publicity; if not for servicemen I know I would never have guessed they were like that. Then again, everything I know about Hawaii I learned from Magnum PI...
One-way tickets for all, and then make it like the "Prisoner" TV series of the 60's.
Problem solved.
We'll keep the light on for ya.
