The truth of the matter is this, if Sarah Palin runs, she wins the republican nomination. Because the hard working people responsible for getting the big win on Tuesday will be the same ones out there working for her in 2012. There really is nothing CNN, the DNC, RNC, or Mitt can do to stop her. Only she can stop herself by deciding not to run. All of this is just an attempt to discourage her.

They are being silly though. All this dumping on her and her family will probably have the opposite effect than what these libs want. She has already said it will be up to her family and they seem to want her to run. It seems these attacks on her family won’t let up whether she decides to run or not, so she might as well run. She is thinking about her family though and probably won’t run if there is a real conservative is in the race.

So if the RNC really wants to make sure Sarah Palin is not the candidate, it would serve them to make sure a real conservative wins the nomination. But I doubt that would sit very well with certain losing lib RINO candidates, like Mitt.

Note that Angle ran 9% behind Sandoval in NV - he got 53%, she got 44%.

In the same way, in the general election Palin would run 6-7% behind some generic GOP candidate, somebody like Portman (not that he has any chance to get nominated, but he is a perfect example of moderately conservative GOP grandee).

This means that she can win only in the event of a full-blown economic Depression (11% unemployment etc.). This is unlikely to happen, Bernanke can print enough money to keep economy on life support for a year or two.

Assuming that the economy is moderately lousy in 2012, the establishment GOP candidate will be very competitive. Palin will raise billions, but this will not help in PA or CO.

Btw, I think Jeb Bush can beat Obama. But he is not crazy enough to run.
