An example of why the state races matter so much. We elected a GOP governor (thank God), John Kasich, on Tuesday, and also elected enough state representatives to flip the Ohio House. The majority we already enjoyed in the Ohio Senate was increased. We also elected a GOP Secretary of State and Auditor.

Ohio's Apportionment Board, which redraws US House districts, is made up of the Governor, Secretary of State, Auditor, and a member of from each political party. Thanks to the results Tuesday, we now enjoy a 4-1 majority on the Board. :)

Betty Sutton, in OH-13, was the lone Ohio Democrat to survive a competitive race this year. She should enjoy her re-election, because he district will be gone by the next election.

The tsunami was fully felt in the states, and it all benefits the GOP.
